I recently saw a Redbox ad for a film entitled "Renfield". Has anyone heard of or seen this film? Is it about the fly eater Renfield or something unrelated to _Dracula_?

I saw it. It's a comedy, the premise being that Renfield attends a support group to get out of his dysfunctional relationship with his master. Also, eating bugs gives him superhuman powers. I enjoyed it, but it is kind of silly. Nick Cage is a hoot as Dracula. "Let's eeeeeeeeeat!"

Nicholas Case as a vampire? Didn't he play a vampire wannabe in a previous movie?
I distinctly remember him sleeping under an upturned couch. Anyone remember
that movie? Was it "The Vampire' Kiss"?

You're right, I found it on IMDB.

I looked it up. It's "Vampire's Kiss" (no 'The'). If you haven't seen it, it's worth a
look-see. Cage plays a man who thinks he's been bitten by a vampire
(Jennifer Beals) bat and believes he is turning into one. He slowly begins to
go through the process of turning (i.e., can't take sunlight, sleeps under an
overturned couch, can't eat food, etc.).

Cage is great in the semi-serious/semi-comedic role. At the end of the story,
the audience isn't sure whether Beals or Cage is really a vampire or whether
Cage has just gone mental.

I recommend it.
