Comments
"Nightstalker" is in no way related to "The Night Stalker,"
neither the short-lived 2005 TV series starring Stuart Townsend
as reporter Carl Kolchak nor the 1972 movie featuring Darren
McGavin (who, sadly, passed away just a few days prior to this
writing). "Nightstalker" is loosely (VERY loosely, or so I
gather) based on the story of Richard Yeyva Ramirez, a 25-year
old serial killer who terrorized Los Angeles back in 1985.
Ramirez is currently on death row awaiting execution. He was
given the name "Nightstalker" because he preferred to break into
houses at night like a vampire. If you're interested in serial
killers, you may enjoy this highly stylized movie, but don't
watch it looking for anything having to do with vampires.

Does anyone know who the death metal band are who are playing on the
radio in the car in the early scenes? I ripped this film from DVD a
couple of years ago but there was nothing in the credits.

I still have the commercial DVD. I'll check through and see whether I
can find anything.

Here's the music listed in the credits (in order):

"Hell Raiser" - Defile
"Sufferance of Life" - Crematorium
"Unholy Invocations" - Dreams of Damnation
"Cast the Stone" - Crematorium
"Perpetual Vehemence" - Defile
"Predestined" - Defile
"Lost hope" - Defile
"Strength and Honor" - Defile
"Machete Burn" - Defile

If it's not any of those, they also list three musicians:

Metal & industrial refuse - Ryan Beveridge
Distortion flute - Tricia Hansen
Guitar - Joel Martin

It could be that some of the music was written and
performed especially for this film by those three
musicians listed just above.
