Hi

I've read quite a bit about Multi Strike VP on the net (strategy etc),
but would welcome anyones real life experiences of playing these
machines in terms of volatility. I'm off to Vegas in just over 3 weeks
and looking forward to playing them, but just wondered how others have
fared on these machines ? I'm not after heavy stats, just real life
experiences.

At the 25c level it's going to be $5 a go, so I'm guessing that $100
could rattle through pretty quick ? Or in reality does it ?

I've been playing the demo on the LED gaming site and seem to be
getting a reasonable run for my money. But what's it like out there in
the real world ?

Thanks

Yup, which is why I prefer the nickle machines. Either way, the casino
is probably going to get your money.

I sat down at a nickel multi-strike machine at the Casino MonteLago and
quickly hit a royal on the 3rd line, I think, and won $800. However, when I
played the machine again on another trip, I went through a lot of money very
quickly. There is a penny version at the Silverton that's perfect, but I
don't know if any other casinos have them. Just hit quick and hit hard!
LOL.

I played it last week at the Orleans. Played it there last fall, too. On the
website demo, I always do well, and usually quadruple my money in no time. At
the casino, it didn't happen that way at all. Gobbled me up in no time. At
least I wasn't tempted to play it anymore, after a couple losses in a matter of
minutes!

This past Friday I drove down to the Belterra riverboat in Indiana and
was surprised to find they had 4 new Multistrike machines. I'd been
itchin' to play them myself, for much the same reasons you state.

I too have played it extensively at LED, with mixed results. Sometimes
you can win up a storm, others you drop like a rock. I think that is
probably the nature of the beast, and what makes the game interesting,
for both the casino and the player.

In real life it plays exactly like it does online. The machines at the
Belterra are nickel, so I put in $20 and received 400 credits. I went
up and down and up and down, topping out around 600 credits, and coming
back twice from under 100 to back where I started. This game *IS* a lot
more volatile than FPVP, but that is also what makes it more
interesting. I did finally lose it all, but I played for 45 minutes or
so on that initial $20, which I can't complain about. A try later with
$10 didn't fare quite as well, but still had some good entertainment.

The little I have read about them in LV has usually stated they are
either $1, or a combination of $1 and $2. At that price it is too
volatile for me, but I'd probably give them at least a brief try to see
how I fared. I think that you are correct that you "could" go through
$100 on a quarter machine rather fast, if your luck wasn't particularly
good. But you also have a reasonable chance to go up as well...

I didn't have a choice, all they had were the nickel machines. But that
worked out rather well as a nominal amount of money bought a fair amount
of play time. The downside being that when I did go up some it wasn't
enough to make it worthwhile cashing out, so I gave it all back.

It is exactly the same, with the obvious exception being that playing
for REAL money makes the decisions you make more important...

If you have not already done so you might want to check out some of the
other games at the LED home page (http://www.ledgaming.com). Apparently
Cash King Checkers has made it's way into some places already, and some
of the others may have as well. I found Big Split Poker to be kind of
fun too, and while most of the time the choices are straight forward
occasionally the choices you make can have dramatic impacts on your
win. The biggest problem I have with this game is that you can easily
have a run of non-winners where your credits disappear quickly.

I thought Cash King Checkers sucks, both because you can also lose
instantly over and over as in Big Split and because any kind of decent
win is almost nonexistent. And while there are occasional choices the
player has to make, they too are infrequent and it doesn't take a rocket
scientist to determine the best play. The bonus game gives out a decent
win, but it is so infrequent it really isn't a factor. The other two,
Bunco Night and Othello are kind of interesting, but neither one
requires any player input so it puts them more in the slot category than
VP.

Hope that helped.

I've played quite a bit of Multi Strike, and while my losing sessions probably
slightly outpace my winning sessions, the wins total more than the losses. The
game is extremely volatile, but the "free rides" are a nice feature, especially
when you can link a couple opf them together after a slow stretch to get
yourself up on the third or fourth line. I've played mostly deuces bonus, both
at the nickel and quarter level. Be careful with nickels, because I've run
into more than one machine set for a maximum play to be 80 credits (20 per
line) rather than 20 (5 per line) at the nickel level. For the nickel players
out there, be careful before you hit the "play max coins" button.

I saw a player at Barona Casino in California playing nickels hit royal flushes
on the second and fourth lines on the same hand and win over $2,000 on one hand
with a $1.00 investment a few weeks ago. The best top line hand I've had was
five 4's playing deuces bonus (200 x 8 = 1,600 credits). I've been dealt three
deuces a few time son the top line, and four cards to a royal flush, but no
1,000+ credit hand on the top line yet.

I like it, but after four or five straight hands of not advancing past the
bottom line it can gert extremely frustrating.

I played it a few times at jokers at the penny level just to see what
it was like. I had 4 of a kind at the top level so I made a few
bucks on that one, but later tries at a buck a try proved fruitless.
but it is a fun game. and as always, fun is the ONLY reason you
should play any of these "games".

Thanks go out to the people who responded to my question.

I've got a reasonable bankroll set aside to play them, so here's
hoping I get a decent run in 3 weeks time.

Will post back IF anything significant hits !!
