"Kids" star Justin Pierce dies at Bellagio

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A young actor who starred in the movie "Kids'' was
found dead in a hotel in an apparent suicide.
Police say the body of Justin Pierce, 25, was found Monday in his room
at the Bellagio hotel-casino complex. It appears he hanged himself.
An autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Pierce died the day before the New York premiere of his latest film,
"Pigeonholed.'' It co-stars "Law and Order'' actor Chris Noth and
Rosanna Arquette.
Pierce also appeared in two episodes of the Fox television show
"Malcolm in the Middle'' this year and with rapper Ice Cube in "Next
Friday,'' released earlier this year.
Pierce, of Los Angeles, was in town working on a video shoot for a
fashion company.
Last year, actor David Strickland hanged himself at the Oasis Motel
also on the Las Vegas strip. Strickland was a cast member in the
TV series "Suddenly Susan.''

It is an extreme exaggeration to say that
the Oasis Motel is on the Strip. the Oasis in
case you don't know is a cheap motel whose
big draw is a sign offering free adult movies.
It is in a run down part of that stretch of road
known by some as, "Naked City." It is not
very close to the major properties at all and
the closest casino resort to it is the
Stratosphere.
This AP story is another attempt by
mainstream media to depict Las Vegas as a
bad place. This story failed to tell it's readers
that David Strictland had a history of drug
abuse. I don't know why Justin Pierce killed
himself but there's NO reason to connect his
death with David Strictland's.
