Having read several posts about Ellis Island - - I wanted to get some
feedback regarding people who have visited this establishment
recently. I am in the process of coordinating a comapny function and
wanted opinions as to the food, service, and atmosphere. The only
reason I am asking this is that the previous posts range from "must
visit" to "absoulte dump".

Thanks,

Tina Gonzalez

Hi, Tina.

On a retail basis, the food at Ellis Island is excellent, and easy on the
pocketbook. Also, the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

They DO have a catering department that can handle a group of up to 150
people in their Celebration Square function room. If you want to explore
that possibility, call Ellis Island at (702) 733-8901, then dial Extension
232 for the catering department. Ask for Marcus or Daryl, either of whom can
give you all the info you need.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Hi Tina,

I was at Ellis Island several weeks ago and there was a private
function in one of the larger ballrooms. Looking inside the room it
looked pretty nice and the Food Service at Ellis Island (EI) can
definitely deliver lots of tasty food. The Sunday BBQs are great.

However, I think it would be the "presentation" side of things that
you are right to ask about. The presentation of the food may not be
as polished as higher end places. I don't know for a fact - in Vegas
anything is possible with a big enough budget. I have never attended
or planned a private event at EI.

Also some of your guests may not be impressed with the exterior and
interior of the EI. So if you are inviting customers, the EI may not
be the place.

If it is an inhouse event, you may be able to budget lots of great
food compared to fancier places and end up being able to budget an
open or lower cost bar, door prizes and ultimately a more fun and
memorable event. Personally I would fondly remember a function at the
EI that served beer from the onsite microbrewery and the pizza place.
Later those so inclined could wander over to the Karaoke Bar and have
a great time.

"Great Value" is a phrase I strongly associate with EI.
Luxurious or Plush are not terms that come to mind.

Hope this helps

Last time I was there was in October when I enjoyed the best Liver and Onions
plate I've ever had BUT had to suffer thru a abominable Karaoke version of
someone tryin' to imitate Axl Rose singing "Sweet Child O' Mine"!

I ate at Metro pizza a year ago, and thought it was good. But taint

Personally I love Ellis Island. It is very local and fun. The food is pretty
good and it is a nice change of pace when I want to get away from the big
places. I've never done an event there, but I wouldn't hesitate to.
