I'd be interested in hearing what Big Mikey claimed that Metro told him.
As a non-resident without a valid permit to carry it will be interesting
to hear how Metro is saying he can carry a gun legally, in his car or on
his person. I'm still trying to understand how he can carry a gun in his
car in California. Unless it's broken down, unloaded and with the ammo
in a different locked case he can't and carried in such a fashion,
telling people he's armed is a bigger joke than Mikey already is.

If you have the permits, having a handgun when trouble pops up can be very
advantageous.
I know of two true cases ..one here in little old wooooster and the other
in leominster near where "denny in mass" lives.
A woman was accosted in a parking lot by a man and when she opened her
jacket and let him see the handgun, he ran like a bad out of hell.
In leominster, a man was the victim of road rage and was forced to the
side of the road. A man approached with a baseball bat and the victim laid
his .45 on the dashboard. The "baseball player" jumped in his truck and
took off.
I can't say anything about BM and his carrying a gun in California but
what we need is a national gun license; a twin to the drivers license,
that is valid in all 50 states.
Actually, one could apply for a drivers license and they put sometype of
firearms emblem on the license and you carry just one permit for both an
auto and a firearms.

Nevada lets adults, residents or not, to carry loaded weapons in plain
sight but not concealed without a permit. It's not a very bright
thing to do and makes it easy to become a police accident.
California has a similar carry exposed law but it's not allowed in
cities and other incorporated areas or population centers. You can
carry a fire arm on your person, exposed and unloaded anywhere in the
state, but again, it's an invitation to police attention.
Loaded and/or concealed weapons in vehicles is a big no-no.
The exception to the CCW laws are if you are a licensed hunter and are
engaged in hunting at the time, you may carry a concealed firearm,
although I'm not sure why the exception exists.

From another standpoint, while in the LV area, be careful because
there are substantial differences in local ordinances. What is legal
in Clark County/City of Las Vegas, may not be legal in North Las
Vegas, Henderson, or Boulder City.

I believe you may be referring to Tennessee, which recently changed
their concealed carry law to allow permit holders to carry a weapon into
a bar as long as the bar doesn't specifically disallow it by posting a
notice. I read about that in a TN newspaper I was reading on a flight
that passed through BNA. That may or may not be what you are referring
to, as TN only allows licensed permit holders to legally carry a gun,
just like NV does.
For what it's worth, a few Las Vegas casinos disallow Nevada permit
holders to carry inside their properties. Next time you go into Monte
Carlo, look at the signs posted near the door.
To draw this back on topic however, the original poster Big Mikey said
he carries his guns with him, which is absurd since he doesn't have a
license to do so. Just another in a long list of Big Mikey absurdities.
