I never lied, I simply took the last column numbers which were as I
quoted.
If you wish to be pedantic then Yes the USA in 2005 had 5.6 murders
compared
to Australia's 1.45, that means that you are way ahead in the murder
category, and as in 2008 it was 5.8 so it is getting worse over
there.

Considering that the UN says Australia is way better than the USA as a
place
to live in one has to wonder just how bad the US is if Australia is a
'toilet country' seeing the US is a much worse place to live in

Australia is No 4 after Iceland, Norway and then Canada.

You keep making reference to Australia being a convict country, maybe

A study released this week by the Pew Center on the States delivers a
staggering statistic: 7.3 million Americans-or 1 in every 31 adults-
are in
the nation's prison system. This figure includes those in US jails and
prisons, on parole, on probation, or under other forms of correctional
supervision.

I came across this article today on the BBC site.
I am interested to hear everyone's ideas about why US has more people
in
jail than any other country in the world - and more per capita than
either
Russia or China which we tend to view as punitive countries with less
respect for human rights.
