Thanks in advance, David.
The best way to beat this hassle, is to not stay at the IP in the first place.
Then the elevators would be of no concern. You could also ask for a room in the
"rear', which would allow you to park your car right infront of your room and
just take a short walk into the casino. Don't know where these mysterious
elevators are located because I never used elevators at the IP when I stayed
there.

Haven't stayed at IP since 1986 but I remember that we use to use
elevators that are directly behind the other elevators. Most people
didn't realize they were there.
Walk around and past the first bunch of elevators and you'll find the
2nd bunch.

From the casino level, take the stairs to the 2nd floor/parking garage level.
Walk down this hallway toward the parking garage but keep walking past the
escalators to the end of the hallway and take a right. There they are!

While I was there in Sept the short escalator route was blocked off
while they were working on the Monorail station. Any body know if they
have finished?
The three near the front of the casino go to the 6th to 19th floor
only. I still have the casino map from my stay in Sept.
There are only 2 on the 'hidden' bank. Sorry!
They must have lost the use of a few rooms when tey did that. We were
diverted down the tour ramp to get to the parking garage.
I'm not tellin', nananananana.

So true! No zig zagging or going through shops. Just go behind the main
elevators and you'll find a set of faster elevators.
TyrC!
I had also read some of the horror stories about the IP elevators, but
during my last visit there, I could find nothing wrong with them. They
worked. They went both up and down, though luckly not at the same time. They
got to the floor quickly, and go me to where I was going quickly. I didn't
think they were any faster or slower than any other elevator I had ever
ridden. Well, except for those rockets at the Empier State Building..... You
go up in those and you'r pulling 2 g's. Going down is even more fun. You
usually get to the ground floor a few minutes ahead of your stomach and have
to wait around for it to catch up.
