Is Agent 8 still available?

I have lost the key for my Agent 8. I tried emailing but I *believe*
it is no longer supported. I would not be averse to paying again (as
it is such a long time since I last paid) but is the purchasing
process reliable?

There is a way to find the key in the registry. Let me look for the
saved post.

Could this be because I installed Agent (trial version) on to a new
computer? I kept a copy of the program files from the old machine.
Could it be there? Alternatively, if I boot up the old machine and
follow your directions would it show the real key instead of <key>?

On a new install I import the DATA folder from old install before
running Agent the first time. Last install was 3-4 years ago.

Sorry, but my IT skills are limited. Can you tell me where the DATA
folder is (I have a copy of the disk from my old computer)? Can I
still import or should I uninstall and reinstall Agent?

Agent is a 32bit program so it would be somewhere in \Program Files
(x86)
I do installs another way for certain programs Agent and Ham Radio. I
have Agent installed in C: \online\ Agent
This way I always know where \Agent \Data is

Search the old disk for a file named AGENT.INI. (Agent Ransack,
similar name but from a completely different company, is a free tool
that can do this quickly.) The folder where you find this file is the
data folder that our Agent uses to find all its control data,
including the key, along with your data such as saved messages. Copy
this folder to your new system in a folder to which you have write
access, normally NOT either of the Program Files folders on your C
drive. Edit the shortcut you use to open Agent to specify this new
folder as its starting location.

This seems to be a result !!!!

I used the Windows search tool to find the file and inside the file I
found the registration key. I just copied it into the version of
Agent already installed, which now shows as a licensed version.

Same here. That allows you to simply copy everything in the Agent folder onto a
USB stick and copy it to a new PC. It avoids the confusion of having parts of
the program in your user folders.
