A business sent me a document of some sort, and it came
through as smime.p7m which Agent does not recognize. Agent
wants to know what program to use to open this file. I
haven't a clue.

Everything I research online says if I can't open the file,
I should do a PC repair check and down load some reader
file.

Is there a way to open as .txt or .doc?

This is an encrypted email, which you won't be able to read in Agent
(or many other clients). Probably the best thing to do is tell the
business not to send it encrypted, as that is rarely useful outside
the company network.

If they're unable or unwilling to fix it at their end there's
http://www.cryptigo.eu/smime.p7m/ - 30 day trial.

Actually, the Singularity seems rather useful in the entire work avoidance
field. "I _could_ write up that report now but if I put it off, I may well
become a weakly godlike entity, at which point not only will I be able to
type faster but my comments will be more on-target." - James Nicoll

Thank you, Jamie! This kind of a file was a "first" for me!

(Sender was a government agency. 'Nough said.)

Heh! "Unable" in that case. In so many ways.
