I am having probs on my main computer, it says the message doesn't
recognise 'the socket address' - haven't a clue what that is. I did
write to the 'help' in Agent maybe ten days ago, but only had a
response the day I wrote to say they had it in hand, nothing more.

So I thought to myself, try bugging poor Ralph again :)

I did not find any reference to a similar-sounding error in this
group over the past twelve years.

An exact error message would be good. Exact error messages are
always good.

One guess is that you might be running out of network sockets. A
"network socket" is one end of an Internet connection, such as an
Internet connection between Agent the news server. See this page
on Wikipedia: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_socket>

But to run out of network sockets, I suspect you would be closing
and re-opening many network connections over a short period.
