I have an Astraweb block I bought many years ago, it's become
unusable for text froups now. Click on an article and get an error
message. The block I bought from usenet-news.net is just the same.
Both resell Highwinds media.

For Astraweb you have to reload all the headers.

That works for my 10 year old block account.

I've done that several times. I've also tried different
newsreaders, Xnews, Gravity, Thunderbird and Pan. The errors I get
are either that the newsserver has expired the article or after
several attempts it'll load the body of one article with the
headers of another. My ISP's newsserver which also is provided by
HW has the same errors. The only thing I haven't tried is a
different PC, but I can't see that being the problem as non HW
servers are OK.

Not for mine. Both my astraweb and usenet-news blocks are fucked
up. They'd probably work OK if I wanted to download bunnies with an
NZB, but I don't.

After reading your post I dusted off an old pc, plugged it in and
had exactly the same problem with the highwinds servers. Both have
Windows 10 and Kaspersky Total Security. I paused KTS protection
and still had the errors. I then exited KTS and bingo the errors
had gone. All three of the highwinds media sourced newsservers
worked OK. Strange that Kasperky only messed up the highwinds
servers? Thanks for your post.

I have an astraweb block account. The subscribed groups no longer
works, I have to download them individually. I can no longer access
the members area or the help desk. What a surprise that signing up
for a new account still works. Never had a problems until recently
(highwinds).
