I want to be able to hide/ignore threads on here sometimes but how
ever I try invariably they come back and sit there for ages... I can't
find any constancy in how it works ?!
Anyone out there suggest how to fix it ?
I know I should be reading in a ngr which I have at home, but most of
the time I want to few/post from at work where I can only get at them
this way…
I'm not aware of any way to 'hide' or 'ignore' threads using the Google
web interface. There is a 'Click the star to watch this topic' button,
but I've never tried it to see what happens to 'watched topics'.
There are third party tools that try to implement a basic 'killfile' for
Google Groups; eg <http://www.holysmoke.org/ggf/index.htm> and
<http://groups.google.com/group/news.software.readers/msg/532a3d9153c6a1c3>.

Thanks for that, the problem is that you sort of missed the bit at the
end which I didn't word properly... when I'm at work it's a big
conglomerate who totally stitch up our machines so that we can only
use IE6 and there's not way we can install anything that hasn't gone
through at least a year's compatibility testing with all the other
software on the whole system :(
Never mind, I'll just suffer and ignore it.
Yes, I got that.

Whose machines? ;))

Remarkably liberal; a simple 'you only get what we install' would be more
typical.

Or possibly get some work done? <G>
Oh ok I missed that you got it...
