I was watching an episode (is this the correct BrE word) of "Would I Lie
To You?" and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was one of the panelists on Lee
Mack's team.

Intrigued by her performance, I Googled her, but didn't find much of the
information useful. Is there anyone who knows of her persona who would
be willing to share?

An extremely flat-chested 'it' girl. Self publicist, famous for being
famous. A nonentity.

I only found the one page and it was biographical rather than personal
opinion, which is what I was looking for. Though it did have some quotes
from her, and that, along with another post here was helpful.

When she was on the show, she was part of a team, but didn't seem to
participate. She seemed distracted and wooly-headed. I thought maybe she
had been drinking and was allowed to go on. Though it was her first time
so she may not have had the show's rhythm down. I think something some
of the other panelists said made me want to find out.

From Whiskers I got

autistic-says-Tara-Palmer-Tomkinson.html>

which helped.

She wasn't at alike other panelists I've seen so I wondered who she was.

Thanks,

I vaguely remember hearing that she's an accomplished pianist. Not
professional concert level, but not far below.

Also a godchild of Charles.

Part of the explanation for her behaviour appears to be that she has a
form of autism.

She played with an orchestra in the RFH and played with Mozart in the

Reminds me of the newspaper that once advertised a performance of "Art Thou

For someone with no discernible talent or achievement, what else is
there for the media to build a story on but her boobs and her bank
account?

Kind of opposite of this situation:

- My fiance broke off our engagement.
- Did you do something wrong?
- I pointed out that her nylons were wrinkled.
- And ...?
- She wasn't wearing any.

The nice thing about standards is that you have so many to choose
from; furthermore, if you do not like any of them, you can just
wait for next year's model.

"Une Sarah Marshall magnifique, une it-girl british trop décolletée...
pour un show à Londres !" - should this headline be referred to a French
usage group? Or the French Academy?

The only other possibility is that you are not extremely pretty and make
a habit of appearing at events where other celebrities are invited, but
I find that hard to believe.

On a French movie last night, I heard one character correct his opposite
number's pronunciation of Bill Gates from "Gattuh" to "Geyt". What was
so surprising was that the character's own name was "Niemans" for which
he pronounced the final s.

It's possible, I suppose; there seem to be many famous people of whom I
have never heard so logically I could be one of them. I have difficulty
recognising faces, so photographs aren't particularly helpful as aides
memoir. I am pretty sure that I'm not Prince Charles or Tara P-T,
though.
