Regardless of Adrian's apparent understanding of this piece of
gibberish, you'd be much better off assuming that pop songs have no
meaning other than "Buy me and make my vendors rich".
This particular piece of trash has a few lines that seem to have some
concrete meaning -- and you seem to have understood the meanings of
those lines -- but the song as a whole is about as meaningful as death
by drowning in a bog (any kind of bog): once the water, slime, and mud
fill your lungs, you cannot breathe, and everything else becomes
meaningless.
Don't look for meaning where there is none. The lyrics of contemporary
music -- or what passes for music these days -- are more often than
not merely personal rants about the singers' damaged psyches and
distorted perceptions of their own cramped, stifling, and tiny
realities. They're also written in such poor English that the only way
to make them mean anything is to force them to mean something by
reading meaning into words that have none when strung together into
the final commercial products that they are. Just pretend that they're
in some exotic language that no one else in the world speaks or
understands and that if you were to somehow manage to secure an
accurate translation, you'd be sick to your stomach at the thought of
having wasted your time listening to such garbage. If you like the
sounds these poseurs push into your ears, be satisfied. There is no
other meaning worth knowing.

What really annoys me is your ignorance. I am a Biochemistry major in
college and don't generally give a damn what the meaning of some poem
or song is (and I scorn all the artsy kids who do). I was curious
about this one so I checked it out. I eventually chanced upon a
decent explanation of the song, because musicians have a lot of depth
in general- even if they end up in the trash can with heroin in their
systems. That said, the song seems to comment upon the Vietnam War.
I point you to the link to songmeanings.com or whatever that other guy
posted.
I can't really relate to the song since it was clearly written for a
generation or two above me. I guess you can't relate for the same
reason. But I'm sure someone else can.

He did not, in fact, spell the word "anonymous", nor did he spell the
word "anonymouse".

First, did you happen to notice that Franke was quoting someone who was
using the handle "Anymouse"? If you quote someone, the attribution has
to include the name of the person quoted, regardless of whether you
approve of that name.
Second, did you notice that Franke did _not_ write the lines

By including those words, you have misrepresented what he said.
Quite often, I find myself disagreeing with something that Franke has
written. That never moves me to accuse him of saying something that he
hasn't said.
