What is a word for going along with someone to please them? What they're doing is stupid, but they're enjoying it, so you "------" them.

And how do I do these reverse lookups? Google failed.

You humour them.

Come and live in the UK for a few decades. You'll soon pick up the language.

I thought placate meant to calm down? I'm going with "humour".

I've lived here for 45 years, which is why I'm now forgetting some words.

If he is Scottish then I tend to agree with you. Many of the high winds
we are experiencing are directly traced back to irresponsible
bagpipe use in the Lallans.

Kennedy welcoming the Black Watch and praising the Scots that
made it to to the New World, seems strange - the people that drove
them out getting credit for having driven them out. I can't find the
full march, but Jackie Kennedy was easy on the eye..

I'm only 45! I've always been like that and am hoping with old age I'll go the other way.

I'm going with humour. Indulge sounds a bit odd used on someone else. I indulge myself when I eat chocolate cake, but if I indulged Lucas, I'd be eating him, or going down on him, or something.
