I don't understand the first few lines, to be honest. Maybe not supposed to?

Watch out now, take care
Beware of falling swingers
Dropping all around you
The pain that often mingles
In your fingertips, beware of darkness

Watch out now, take care
Beware of the thoughts that linger
Winding up inside your head
The hopelessness around you
In the dead of night

Beware of sadness
It can hit you, it can hurt you
Make you sore and what is more
That is not what you are here for

Watch out now, take care
Beware of soft shoe shufflers
Dancing down the sidewalks
As each unconscious sufferer
Wanders aimlessly, beware of Maya

Watch out now, take care
Beware of greedy leaders
They take you where you should not go
While weeping Atlas cedars
They just want to grow, grow and grow
Beware of darkness
(Beware of darkness)

"Beware of Darkness" is a ballad containing dense imagery.[2] The
song marks a return to the spiritual concerns of Harrison's songs
with the Beatles such as "Within You Without You."[3][4] The lyrics
of "Beware of Darkness" reflect the philosophy of the Radha Krishna
Temple, with which Harrison was involved, in which spiritual
concerns must always override material things.[3] In the verses, the
listener is warned against various influences that may corrupt him
or her.[3] Among the potential corrupting influences are con men
("soft shoe shufflers"), politicians ("greedy leaders") and pop
idols of little substance ("falling swingers").

I don't know that sense of "swinger". Might it derive from "swing"
music?

Not the conventional 'sexually promiscuous'?

1971: more likely to be stars of swing music, when swinging = hip,
fashionable, as in "swinging sixties", swinging London", etc. Too early
for widespread use of swinger = sexually promiscuous, IMO.

Agreed.

Hello darkness, my old friend. And Atlas cedars weep not: the cedar
mnemonic dead easy: Atlas have ascending branches, Lebanon have level
branches, and Deodars descending. Neat, eh?

In these dark days, Atlas cedars too have learned to weep:

I can't reproach them for it. But it was news to me: thank you. The

Swing music was more or less defunct by 1950. The King of Swing was
Benny Goodman. The Dorseys and Glenn Miller were three other well-known
proponents.

As for the sexual meaning, there were The Swinger and Swingle
(portmanteau word for Singing Single) in the 1960s, both of which were
American men's magazines.

Falling Swingers refers to Lennon and McCartney. So is Wah Wah. George never received a fair shake from Lennon & McCartney for his song writing skills and the poor representation of his material on Beatles albums.

George Harrison pronounces <beware> like <bewere>.

The Soul Choir
Claudia Lennear, Joe Greene, Jeanie Greene, Marlin Greene, Dolores Hall, Don Nix, Don Preston
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Concert_for_Bangladesh_(album)#Personnel

Jim Keltner also drummed for Mad Dogs and Englishman in which ensemble
Joe Cocker and his 10-person Space Choir were the singers.
Here they are singing Harrison's "Something", my favorite rendition:

I love the way one singer carries her dog.
