We win! or We won! or We've won!
Same question but it's several hours later at home,
Does it make any difference if the thing won is of much longer
duration, e.g. World War II?

Recently "We win!" or "I win!" has become used as a kind of triumphal
exclamation at the moment of ... er ... winning.

I was about to say that. I remember it, because it wouldn't be possible in
my mother tongue. Has it to do with video-games ("you win", "you lose")?
