I didn't know that song, but it immediately reminded me of Billy Joel's hit "My Life". The melody, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3JFEfdK_Ls#t=1m26s, seems to be sheer plagiarism.

Your post reminds me of:

Yesterday Once More (Reprise) [1973]

Carpenters

When I was young I'd listen to the radio
Waitin' for my favorite songs
When they played I'd sing along, it made me smile

Those were such happy times and not so long ago
How I wondered where they'd gone
But they're back again just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well

Every sha-la-la-la
Every wo-o-wo-o, still shines
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling, that they're startin' to
sing's, so fine

Are you not mildly curious about whoever it was who "put the ram
in the rama lama ding dong?"

Look up 'idjit' in an urban dictionary and examine yourself in the mirror.

Have you ever heard of "sha la la"?

Heard? Yes.
Heard of? That would suggest that "sha la la" is a _thing_.
Perhaps you mean the song "Sha la la", recorded by
the Shirelles, later by Manfred Mann? The lyrics
contain some remarkably extended variants of the
mystic syllables:

(Sha la, la, la, la, la, la)
(Sha la, la, la, la, la, la, la)
(Sha la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la)

http://www.lyricsfreak.com/m/manfred+manns+earth+band/sha+la+la_21034811.html

Or perhaps you had something else in mind?
