Frost: "A mood apart"

Maybe someone can help me.
In Robert Frost's poem "A mood apart", the last line is beyond my grasp.
"Once down on my knees to growing plants
I prodded the earth with a lazy tool
In time with a medley of sotto chants;
But becoming aware of some boys from school
Who had stopped outside the fence to spy,
I stopped my song and almost heart,
For any eye is an evil eye
That looks in on to a mood apart."
Does it mean the eye looks in to find a different mood?
Any insights?

Some schoolboys stopped to spy on him, and obviously he felt that they
were not sensitive to his singing and gardening.
He stopped because any eye that looks on and mocks is evil and is a
mood apart from his mood. His heart was insulted, too.
Best I can do!

evil, or examples of "the evil eye", because they're spying on him when
he feels he's apart from others.

First of all, because it isn't mine, thus less tolerant in assessing me
or my actions, my life,
And second, as it interferes with my own mood and soul,
Which I prefer to keep to myself/for me only.
In the end, this is the only thing left to me, so I have a right to it
and to privacy.

Marius, did you by any chance translated his Complete Poems? I've seen a lot of messages in the forums. I'm doing the same -- to Spanish.
