Hi,

How come my friend who is doing 3 A Levels ( History, Art and English ) gets
15hrs of mock exams, where as I only get 2hrs !

Where is this rule that exams for arts subject must be 3 hours plus - where
as you can get away with an hour for Chemistry?

only an hour for chemistry!!! Ahhh! I need more, or mabe you've got a
diffrent group to us (ie we have AQA). Don't really know.

What are you on about rob????
We've got 5 hrs 40 mins total for Chem, 3.5 hrs for phys , 3 hrs for gen
stud and 3 hrs of maths modules, with a total of 15 hrs over the whole
course for 2 A-levels and an AS.

And I would just like to add to that by saying I have 4 hours of maths
modules, 4 hours of Chemistry modules as well as a compulsory 3 hour
Chemistry practical exam, 5 1/2 hours of Biology and 3 3/4 hours for Latin
A/S making 20 1/2 hours for 3 A levels and an A/S! So count yourself ever
so slightly lucky!

That would be the whole modular science thing working.. It works out the
same in the end, but I personally think that in some subjects several 1 - 1
1/2 hour exams are much better than a couple of scary 3 hour ones!!

I'd have much prefered several shorter and topic specific exams that the
whopping great ones I had to take. Guess that's linear for you though.

Commiserations!! If that's just for mocks I'd hate to see what the real ones
are like. Then again, working out mine: about 37 hrs+ in total at the end.
