Now, I have ZERO knowledge as to whether this is true, or not, but that
has been the *story*, that has been circulating lately. Again, I don't
know this to be true, and I have never read any articles stating this,
but I have seen several post in this NG, saying it is so.
Can anyone else shed any light on this? Anyone have a link to an article
on this?

I've heard this "story" a few times in the last couple years. As far as I
know, it's a "he said that she said that someone heard that a friend of a
friend of someone that knows Tank" type of story.

I've always wondered if Tank was gay too due to some of his
comments like being "sexually arrosed" from watching footage of his KO
of Matua and saying that he put Nelmark on "Queer Street" and making the
comment that Belfort was "cute" in an interview before their match and
stuff like that. Also, Tank has spent time in prison and we've all
heard of what kind of stuff goes on in there. However, I actually met
Tank in person while I was on vacation in 8/95 at the Hard Rock Cafe in
Newport Beach, CA and he came in with an attractive female. Tank was
actually pretty cool and friendly when I talked to him but he was also
intimidating and he scared the shit out of me at the time (remember,
this was about a month after his UFC VI debut). Believe it or not,
Tank actually plays golf. Also, I read an interview with Tank (at his
unofficial web page I believe) and the subject of chasing chicks came up
in the interview and there was a picture of him with some chick and the
caption to the picture said something like "women love the Tank" or
something like that. I'm not saying that Tank isn't gay because I
really don't know for sure but from what I've seen he does like women so
if he really is into guys then he must be bi-sexual. I would like to
believe that Tank is not gay at all but none of us here know for sure.
This is probably just a rumor that got started because of the way that
Tank likes to joke around. Whether Tank is gay or not I know that I
sure as hell wouldn't want to piss him off. Also, if Tank really is
gay I think that being locked in the same prison cell with him would be
my worst nightmare come true..............

I heard something about that. Of course, it doesn't mean he is gay. I knew

I always considered those comments, evidence of Tanks mastery of the
*mind fuck*. IMO, he always keeps people guessing what he is thinking,
by being so off-the-wall, with so many of his remarks. This of course,
just enhances his intimidation game...

met me for happy hour, at a bar where I new the bartender, who happened
to be a married lesbian. Well, Pete got obnoxiously drunk, and started
complaining to Debbie, about the bars lack of women (it was a hotel bar
that catered more to business people).
So, Debbie sent Pete to her favorite lesbo watering hole. Apparently (as
Pete went by himself) he was amazed at all the *available* babes there,
and then proceeded to hustle the best looking lipstick lesbo he saw,

Well, If you start playing on an opponents homophobic thoughts and/or
fears, it just may rattle them enough, to take them out of their game.
Maybe, Tank is secure enough in his sexual orientation, to see the
advantage of *mind fucking* someone he views, as not being so secure in
their sexual orientation. Getting inside another opponents head, works
just as well in the NBA, or NFL, as it does in NHB fighting. With all
the close and personal contact in NHB fighting, maybe playing the *queer
card*, is just a brilliant strategy, Tank chooses to utilize?
BTW, with so many of his interviews taken out of context, it is very
misleading, to try to figure Tank out, just by reading a couple of
quotes. It was posted here, that when asked to describe Vitor in one
word, Tank used the word "cute". This accurate, but does not convey the
flippant manner, in which he answered the question. In the very same
interview, he was asked, what kind of women he liked. His answer? "All".
Goes to show, Tank Abbott is THE master of the *mind fuck*!

I heard that this is supposed to be fact. It may have come from Brian Johnston
who roomed with him at a UFC. He apparantly called for an immediate room
change because Tank came back with a bunch of "Boys" and they were F_cking &
S_cking from what I heard. I didn't believe it when I 1st heard it, but
everyone was acting like it was common knowledge. I think Johnston went to work
out at Renzo's old place & maybe that's how my friends heard. I think if it
is true it must be like a prison thing he picked up. I heard he hangs at this
place called the Hula Girl and he always has chicks all over him though.
There is one leather clad person in his entourage that looks kind of like those
