David Tua's Bench Press.

Hey fellas, I read those nice posts last week about how much Tito Ortiz can
bench press. I also don't think Tito can bench 400, but certainly more than
300. Tito has long arms, a good bencher is someone with shorter arms such as
Ken Shamrock or Mickey Burnett. Hell at 180 lbs I can do 330 so I expect a
finely tuned professional like Mr. Ortiz can do better than a bum like me.

I read once that Mark Coleman can bench about 460 lbs. The dude was like 255
lbs 2 years ago. I wonder how much can these dudes bench:

Ken Shamrock, Don Frye, Mark Kerr, David Tua

Thanks for the feedback.

P.S. I have seen Don Frye in NJPW recently, the dude is on the JUICE like ya
wouldn't believe.

André Figueiredo.

well in Shamrock's book he says he benches 550-600 but that was at his lighter
weight...i wonder what he benches now?

Ken Shamrock was allegedly bragging that everyone in the Lion's Den could bench at
least 400. A representive from a powerlifting magazine who went to verify this
claim reported that only one guy lifted close to 400, and his back and hips were
way off the bench when he did it.

What an obvious lie. Who would believe that Tre "one pec" Telligman could
bench 400?

What a fucking lie. I doubt if Shammie could even unrack 500 but if he could
it would crush him like a mountain if he tried to press it.

That's interesting. I wonder if Tellingman's tricep and back muscles have grown
strong enough to make up for the lack of a pectoral muscle when he benches.

They load up one side of the bar with 350 and put 50 on the pec-less side.

What magazine? Can you site your sources? The story itself may be no more
reliable than Ken benching close to 600...

A poster on alt.sport.weightlifting said he read about the incident in a column in
PLUSA. Not the best soource, but considering the poster, the context, and other
factors, it's believable.
