Andy Anderson did not fight in UFC I, he fought in a later UFC (V or VI?).
He also refereed a current NHB even (MARS?). Boy my memory is shot on
those two. Anyways, the guy that he fought was Jon Hess. Claimed that he
was SAFTA practitioner (Strategic, Agressive Fighting Technique, or
something like that). HE came in to the UFC bragging about how people who
tapped were wimps and shouldn't be in NHB. He proceeded to pound on Andy
if a haphazard, and IMHO, unskilled manner. He dropped out after the
first round victory claiming an injured hand. Many people at that time
thought that he was being very hypocritical.
He also fought Vitor Belfort in a Hawaiian NHB tournament (can't remember
the name, there have been like 4 of them, name has changed). Apparently,
Vitor pummelled him pretty quick.
This is the way I rembember it, I may be off, been a while.
Hope it helps

Who is the US Navy SEAL that has a whole bunch of SAFTA stuff. He is
apparently the founder of the style and now how has a plethora of videos
on it?

Sure, but put an MP-5 in their hands...

Whats really funny about Hess, is that he used to brag that tapping was
"for wimps" or something similar... but a year ago, Hess fought Vitor
Belfort in Belfort's first pro NHB fight. Belfort beat the piss out of
Hess in an extremely quick match. It was great.
Another funny thing... Hess was gonna come back to the UFC about a year
ago or something... all that fell through when Hess started demaning
money up front, in addition to a percentage of the PPV buy. hahaha
Like he's fucking Rickson Gracie or something.. heheh
Hess, what a wuss

Why trash the style because of one fighter? The style may be very
effective (don't know). Is Pentak Silat, or Ninjitsu, or Shotokan a
"crap" style just because their practitioners LOST (unlike Hess who did
win, albeit, unimpressively) in short-order?

You knock SAFTA and then say he is not a practioner of it??? Come on Robb
that is hardly a fair or intelligent conclusion.
Too bad too, because the rest was quite interesting, didn't know about Joe
charles (or whoever). That made me smile
Just my thoughts

It was in UFC 2 in the first round. It was the 16 man tournament and on
the rental video they do not show the fight. However, it was shown on the
"Ultimate New Years Eve." to be honest I have not seen that fight. I was
trying to illustrate a point. The fighter was not in any other or further
in that UFC.
Hope that helps.
