Dang, are they going to do it AGAIN? Excellent lineup. As an aside, I
had a friend over to watch the last one, who has not seen a UFC in about 2-3
years. He was amazed at the quality of fights and the fact that the
dynamics of so many fights turned drastically (the Carter fight, for
example). He said they were so good that it was hard for him to believe
that they weren't setup. I think that is the beauty of good matchmaking. I
*can* go either way at any time.

Look, I like to see all the UFC stuff here, and I even don't mind the
occasional porno links that are put up here. I however do NOT want to know
who is bi-sexual and who is not. Damnit Bob, keep that stuff to yourself.
;)

LOL... Damn you Samoa! Sorry, I didn't mean that. I don't want a herd of
Samoans over here rearranging my face.

By the way, please do not use this tactic again, as *I* am the resident king
of quoting out of context.

Phil Baroni? That isn't the dude in the F/X Toughman shows with the 'Full
Contact Fighter' shorts on, is it?...

That's correct it is that Phil Baroni! The guy who almost punched
a hole through a metal box when he thought was jobbed at Toughman.
This is his second fight in the UFC. People either love or hate Baroni
and BTW, Tito Ortiz said on yesterday's NHB with/Eddie Goldman show on
eyada that Baroni is coming out to L.A. to train with him.

At UFC 30 Baroni defeated Curtis Stout by unanimous decision. BTW, Phil's
manager is Joel Gold of Full Contact Fighter.

There were some good fights and some great fighters at UFC XXXI,
but I found some of the new rules to be annoying. I especially hated it
when Alemedia got DQ'd for kicking Lindland in the head while he was
laying on his back. This new rule-imposed thanks to the New Jersey
Nanny State Athletic Commission-was ridiculous IMO. I've seen that
tatic used many times in many promotions by many fighters and I've never
seen anyone seriously injured by it. There was absolutely no reason to
add in this rule.

>>Tito Ortiz vs. Elvis Sinosic<<<

I guess Tito needs to give this guy a beatdown to turn down the hype
machine.

>>>Pat Miletich vs. Shonie Carter>>>

Good fight.

<<<Mark Kerr vs. Josh Barnett<<<

This could be the most interesting fight of the night. That fat ass
Barnett has beaten some big names. I remember when he won that tournament in
Hawai'i that had some pretty big names in it: Ricco, John Marsh, Bobby Hoffman,
and some other fighters who are pretty good. The dude is legit but if Kerr is
over his blood sugar problem, then the ground and pound is on. Kerr is going
to expose Barnett with an old fashioned ass kicking I think.

>>>Andrei Orlovski vs. Bobby Hoffman
Paul Rodriguez vs. Tony DeSouza<<<
Eugene Jackson vs. Phil Baroni <<<

This will be the point when I cruise down to the bar area and scope out
chicks.

<<<Yuki Kondo vs. Vladimir Matyushenko<<<

Is Matyushenko still with RAW? He must have broken off from them b/c he
is actually fighting now. I'm still waiting for him to deliver on all of his
supposed promise. This will be a good fight. Fun to watch probably.

Overall the card looks pretty good. There are going to be about 5
unimportant fights so it looks like the UFC appears to be going towards
quantity over quality. But the star power on this card is better than it has
been in awhile.

Things really have changed if they're signing the fights a whole month
before the event. They used to wait until the week before.

Great card too.

Same here, and we're in complete agreement about the Almeda/Lindland fight.
I complained about that rule for about 5 minutes following that fight.

How big is Sinosic, naturally? Is he around 215 lbs. like Tito? Tito's
skill level has increased dramatically, but his size/strength advantage puts
him over the top.

He stayed in with Rizzo for a lot longer than I expected him too. Of
course, that was until Pedro knocked Barnett's hair off.

Hopefully the unimportant fights will still be quality fights.
