What is the name of that character with the black mask and cloak, and that
trumpet? Also, what are the rules of the game he's involved in?
(Always seemed to play like a Gong Show type to me, with the guy trumpeting
when certain people would sing)

Thanks for the info. But while we are talking about Lente Loco, I was
wondering....why did they replace Fernando Fiore with "Giorgio" as Lente
Loco host in the first place? IMO, the best host was Fernando. Also, what
is "Giorgio's" real name, and what other jobs did he have in Univision and/or
Spanish TV?

I totally agree with what you said....the new Lente Loco format stinks. It
was miles ahead when they had the videos, as well as the segments in the
"atico loco" with Madre/Tia, Poo Poo Peru (Odalys Garcia), and Fernando and
Giorgio. (Also the other stuff, like NotiLoco and GloboLoco with X. Plotao
and A. Burrido)

The character is El Jacqel (the Jackle). This part of SG is very much
like the gong show. People who think they can sing are selected at
random from those offering to compete. Some have real talent, some
are really entertaining, most are fodder for the horn.

The character was initiated in the U.S. version of the show by
Georgio, the fallen host of Wednesday nite's Lente Loco. It doesn't
appear to me that it's Georgio under the hood any more. He fell out
of grace with Univision for supposedly sexually harrassing his co-host
on the Lente Loco show. The Lente Loco show has lost it's spontanity
and slap-stick character with the loss of Georgio. The co-host is a
pretty face, but a sad talant.

Giorgio's real name is George Ortuzar. He was also the host of the shows La Piñata Loca and Giorgiomania. Ortuzar's contract expired in 1999 & he later went on to become the spokesperson for the Hollywood Park Racetrack until its closure in 2013.

George Ortuzar (aka Giorgio) never left Univision for sexually harassing Odalys on Lente Loco. Both continue to be good friends to this day. Anything that occurred on the show was obviously scripted. Think about it...... if he had really been dismissed for sexual harassment, how could Univision allow him to be near children in the first place? He stayed with the network, hosting the successful children's shows La Piñata Loca and Giorgiomania, until his contract ended in 1999.
