Actually she's a Thespian, which means she's from the Isle of Drama.

HAH, Gottcha! Renee O'Connor is a Thespian, not Gabrielle. Gabrielle
may be a Parnassan or Acadian, but not a Thespian (which wasn't an
island but a person IIRC)

Wrong-o! Potidaea[1] is on the Isle of Drama[2], hence making Gabrielle a
Thespian. ROC's a TEXAN![3] So watch it, buddy!

[1] Spelling according to Weisbrot.
[2] Watch SOTP carefully. When Xena and Gabs (separately) cross that bridge
[where the blind cyclops is] there is a boundary marker that clearly states:
"Leaving the Isle of Drama". Of course it's in ancient Greek so I don't
expect you to be able to read it. :-)
[3] I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could. [<--state motto]

Hah! HAH! Panta Reis, ouden menes toots! I didn't see the ep but it
couldn't have said that, because Thespis, according to the Cambridge
Companion to Classical Literature (not to be confused with Xena's
Companion to Classical Hegamai is, Gabrielle, natch) was "a
semi-legendary Greek poet connected with Icaria, in Attica," which is
NOT (that's NOT! NO NEVER, NO HOW) an Island, despite what John Donne
said (and done).

As in "gone to hell and Texas"?

Who's reading the best writer from the lone star state, Robert E.
Howard, specifically his Breckenridge Elkins stories and who wrote a
series called "Sword Woman" where he channelled Xena. So stick that in
your possibles pilgrim and vamoose!

Got to agree with you there. And calling actors 'Thespians' is a long
stretch at that. But there ain't no such island as Thespia (unless it's
in some private cement pond in Teck's Ass)

Well, Ole' REH did write some nice stuff, but limited. Very limited.
Maybe living your whole life with your mommy and never travelling 100
miles away from her, and shooting yourself after she died might be a
limiting factor on a writer.
Not that this is a put down of Texans as a body: I once knew a Texan
with a great body... They are famous for their.. for their Oil! I once
knew a Texan with a great body. She looked even better oiled up...

"Island" is metaphorical, which you've proved by citing John Donne. <g> The
rest of the sign at the bridge says "Please drive friendly" and "Don't
forget to tip the trolls under the bridge" altho scholars still are debating
whether "tip" refers to giving dinars to the trolls, or tossing them head
over heels. I suspect Gabs would have done the first (or talked them to
death); Xena the second.

[Gail bowing deeply in acknowledgement of Douglas's gracious and gentlemanly
tribute] I was just a bit more persistent (obnoxious? <g>) than you this
time. Nice bit on the "Gail force winds", BTW.
