You're saying that things that appear presumably out of the nether
regions, impersonate public school teachers, and then exercise some
kind of mind control don't fall into the "unexplainable" category?
You're saying that someone knows that that COULD happen?
It seems that as the show's audience grows, the producers are having
to contend more and more with different people's views of what is and
is not possible. The person who sent me email about her friends's
past experience with demon summoning in response to "Die Hand Die
Verletzt" makes for a dramatic illustration. Whenever every viewer
brings a different reality to the TV at 9PM on Fridays we seem to
end up with complaints about whether the magic used in the episode
was "realistic" or not; for some reason those factions argue even
more vehemently than any of the scientifically-inclined readers of
this group do when presented with obvious science-fiction that
stretches the margin of "extreme plausibility."

"GAMERA - DAIKAIJU KUCHU KESSEN" will be released
IMPORTANT NEWS: in Japan on March 11th, one week earlier than the
original March 18th release date.

Unexplainable might have been a poor choice of words.
I admit I prefer the more ``traditional'' science fiction
story or perhaps those stories leaning more towards mainstream
real science. Having a background this area, I could be
accused of being prejudicial toward areas envolving
the occult, psychic (alleged) phenomena, and other ``.,things
...out of the nether region''. Certainly, I don't think
the writers should stop writing stories on the occult, afterall
it is a very rich storehouse of entertaining yarns. I am a
great fan of Stephen King and some of his contemporaries.

Contend? I guess you mean in effort to attract an audience the
FOX network may want to influence the stories presented? I rather
doubt that much attention is payed to the majority of comments on
the Newsgroup -or is it? Chris Carter doesn't post anything? This
in contrast to Babylon 5 where jms regularily responds to readers
queries. I frankly would like to see more participation directly
with the show.

Realistic? Hmm... Suggesting that some people have either
convinced themselves that they have experienced such an event
or they are consider themselves special effects gurus, and therefore
better judges of how the show should be presented.
The real issue is how to write sufficiently entertaining
stories for weekly hour long television show? If the writers
restricted themselves to a very narrow genre they would undoubtly
run out of ideas. I for one would *not* wish to impose such a
restriction on their creativity.
