When the idea that Samantha had been kidnapped by a serial killer first
came up in last night's "paper hearts", my sis and I droned out the
ensuing commercials by babbling at each other:
"Oh no! She was serial killed! It all makes sense! Poor Mulder!"
Then our brains started working and we remembered our X-History.
By the time we were half way through a Designer Imposters (smells just
like CK-One!) commercial, we had thought (of course, in neat point form:
-- Mulder looked like he was in his early teens when Sam was taken.
Now, as traumatic as having someone come into yer house and take your
sister is, wouldn't he kinda remember that? Was that really so shocking
that even hypnotic regression therapy couldn't reveal it? He covered up
the serial killer with an alien story? Weird brain there,
Mulder...aliens I understand, but not human abductors.
-- There's multiple evidence suggesting that shady governmental types
know A LOT about the Sam. Deep Throat spoke about it. Her name keeps
poppin' up. It's doubtful that this is just a fabricated conspiracy to
rope Mulder along. (To do that, they'd need to know what really happened
to her, and I'm convinced that no one knew about those three extra
girls)
-- Mulder's MUM confessed that Mulder's Dad tried to make her choose
which kid she liked best...come on, Mulder, even SHE knows that he had
something to do with it.
-- AND of course, as others have already pointed out -- THE SAMANTHA
CLONES! Hello, Mulder...if she's been buried in the ground, how did they
clone her...WHY BOTHER, there are plenty of little girls in the US. If
they [aliens or CIA etc.] needed DNA or something wouldn't they get
someone whose entire body could be at their disposal for experimental
reasons or whatever?
So by the time the PetSmart commercial was over and the show started
again, we expected Mulder to clear up that Samantha thing and get down
to finding the missing bodies.
As he got more and more obsessed, we kept shouting:
"SAM CLONES Mulder! COME on! We need you focused now!!"
You know, as much as I like Mulder angsty and obsessive, I found this a
wee bit dumb. My sis and I are way far from brainers and we didn't buy
the murder theory one bit. Mulder is a trained psycho-guy and a good FBI
agent...if he suddenly got dumb every time he got emotional...uh, well,
he'd suck. He'd never complete a case. I know everyone is going to say,
'oh the strain of his dreams about the little girls and his memories of
that terrible night, coupled with the emotions of being so close to that
particular case, made him vulnerable to being persuaded by that insane
dude' Well, bullshit. Mulder is better than that. He'd have to be, or
he'd never have gotten as far as he has in finding out the "truth" -- or
rather, some interesting details -- about Samantha. Scully was Just
Right to tell him to get a grip.
As wacko as alien abuduction theory is, Mulder had WAY MORE evidence to
support that than a vacuum cleaner and the word of a child molester.
As fer that "nexxus" connection Mulder came up with..well, kinda weird
and flaky...but okay, I mean the guy did somehow manage to influence his
dreams and escape from the hotel (try explaining that in a
report..Mulder you dufus!!<loving g>). Although, I'd just suspect that
some govt type got to the killer and someone made him tell Mulder those
details in order to screw with Moose's brain and maybe throw him off the
track...govt types are prone to that sort of thing, you know. I was
surprised that Scully didn't bring that up, that someone could have
"gotten to him" first.
So...as cute as Skinner looked with that constipated "I'm gonna kick me
some Mulder ass" attitude. I didn't really enjoy this episode. Mulder
has gone through so much in trying to find Samantha -- so many traumatic
near-hits and freaky experiences, I can't see him going totally out of
his well-trained head this time.
Oh yeah, my dad wanted me to ask this: is it normal for Dangerous
Offenders (and I mean really dangerous) to be taken on commercial, like
totally normal, flights?...I mean evil stockbrokers and fraud suspects
yes...but serial killers? How did Mulder manage that?

Correct me if I am wrong all you cloning experts out there -but they could
have cloned her after the abduction in the 70s and then immediately killed
her ............all ya need is a little preserved DNA , theorectically ,
right -to keep on making clone after clone ad infinitum? Ruth ,
remembering a scene from Woody Allens "Sleeper" where they cloned the
"leader" from a piece of his nose. (hilarious scene BTW, from the earlier
funnier ones)

P.S.-my point being I guess, that The horrible Roache coud have actually
been working for *Them.*............

Yeah, we thought about that, but as inefficient as governments can be,
hiring a child molester to abduct, kill and dispose of a needed test
subject sounds really weird. I mean, don't they have a whole branch of
gov't for that already...some sort of secret assassin central? <heehee
paranoia rising> And how would one go about hiring a serial
killer?....and I don't believe that his supposed experience as a hired
killer would drive him to similarily murder 15 other girls, thus going
serial....plus, if the government was going to go *way* out of its way
to look innocent in their devious cloning attempts by putting a wacko on
the payroll, they'd never have let her body sit in the ground as long as
the theoretical Sam body would have. What is the point of having a cover
story if Mulder has suspected your involvement for so many years? Why
didn't they just "accidentally find" the body shortly after, and have
Roche take the fall...he spent those years in prison without confessing
to any gov't influences so the Shady Ones could trust the serial killer
theory to be more reliable than Mulder's alien one.

Maybe this is what got Roche into child kidnapping. He was paid to
give Samantha to CSM et al alive, but afterwards he couldn't stop
himself and became a child molester. Just because he killed them
doesn't mean he killed her.

So the Roach was working for a bunch of giant mutant ants??

Mulder is such a good son. Consider all the hell he's gone through
trying to figure out what happened to his sister...and HIS MOM HAS
KNOWN EVERYTHING ALL ALONG. She knows who CSM is, what happened to Sam
(at least she must have some serious information that she hasn't
revealed, since she was given the "choice" of which child to
sacrifice)...and yet Fox is such a dutiful son, he never even nags her
about it. There is no "Aww gee Maw! C'mon pleeeease tell me about the
evil government conspiracy that Dad was involved in, and why you had
to give Sis over to them for cloning experiments..."

No wonder he's about ready for the looney bin.
