How about this:

"Hey, Squirrel, watch me pull an EBE out of my hat."
"Moose, I don't think that's your hat..."
[He reaches in and pulls out Skinner's head]
"MOOSE! PUT ME BACK IN MY HAT OR SO HELP ME I'LL HAUL YOUR..."
[He shoves Skinner back in.]
"Guess it's a good thing he's not in this episode, huh?"
"You need to take more vacations, Moose."

Well, I must have been coming back from going to pee and stepped
into the time/space continuim at the exact moment you stepped
out because I _thought_ I had been reading references being made to
M&S as Moose and Squirrel. I think its a great correlation between
the two pairs.

Mulder/Bulwinkle = tall, kind of goofy, relies on his partner to get
him out of situations
Scully/Rocky = the smart one, usually the one who has to work most at
saving the day

Somebody clear this up. I'm sure I didn't dream this.

Nothing to clear up.
You've got it dead on.

Not *all* the rest. I'm personally addicted to Batman, The Tick, and
Dexter's Laboratory. They have great animation and the stories are very
entertaining.

Errr, this has nothing to do with the XFiles, does it?

wait a minute...
"moose & squirrel" refers to
Bulwinkle Moose & Rocket j. Squirrel right?
or did the universe change when I stepped out to pee?
when Boris & natasha (the bad guys) refer to them it's always
as "moose & squirrel"

Exactly!:) In addition, is the noticable size difference between Rocky
and Bullwinkle. Also, the voice of Rocky was supplied by a woman. And
then there's a conversation I picked up from the sitcom "Caroline in
the City": Two characters are discussing whether Yogi and Boo Boo are
related (father and son) because they have the same "last
name"...Bear.:) They finally come to the conclusion:
Character A (Sorry, I don't usually watch "Caroline" so I don't know
these characters' names.): So they're *friends*?
Character B: Yeah.
Character A: Like Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Character B: No! They're a *couple*!

Yep, that's right! It appears there's yet another correlation; Rocky
and Bullwinkle had UST too!;)

...named June Foray. (Who still does lots of voice-acting.)

And, lest we forget, it was Gia Gittleson in this NG whop came up with
the incredibly appropriate and rib-tickling Moose/Squirrel metaphor.

Many, many thanks, Cat, for remembering me and my "legacy" to ATX. It's great to be
thought of and appreciated---even after my retreating back to lurker status. (What's the
emoticon for having "warm & fuzzy" feelings for my Phile friends?)

best,

Oh, Teddi, the mind boggles! Actually Rocky and Bullwinkle were just
*partners* with a really good working relationship! Please don't start
the 'shipper wars again!

And I am still mourning the loss of Bump in the Night and Reboot.

I'll have to agree. When I wrote what I did, all I could remember was
that damn power rangers crap. I do happen to like the Tick, Duckman
and the Simpsons though these three are not really cartoons for kiddies.
I also like Batman and the Animaniacs and of course, B and B.

Still, I can remember the days when the variety and creativity seemed
to be so much better. Back in the days of the 80's where the old school
toons like the old WB cartoons and superfriends, ScoobyDoo and
the Smurfs were mixed with Robotech, the Transformers, GI Joe, the
Real Ghostbusters, He Man and Dungeons and Dragons, and probably
others. 'Toons today seem to be the either the same thing but
with different names and faces, or just plain corny.
So, I recant the statement that what they got nowadays is crap, and
say, in lieu, that cartoons were at a peak in quality back in the
mid 80's.
