Yes! I was watching the scene in Quagmire where they are driving to
the lake and that very same thought crossed my mind. Does rain follow
them from location to location? Does Mulder have control of the
elements? Looks like an X-File...

I was born and raised in north west Washington not to far from Vancouver
and since they film the X-Files in the fall, winter, and spring and do it
in Vancouver it will be raining most of the time. But the best Summers
are found in this area. To bad they can't show the beautiful Summers in
Canada.

That's Vancouver for you. Or are you suggesting that they're not really
filming in any weather pattern that exists on this planet...

I just thought I'd say that I went to Vancouver for one week this March
for my spring break and it poured the first day, then NO RAIN for the
WHOLE week! Then it poured on the day we left:) My friends and I have
such a sunny demeanor:)

However although it's always raining on the show, a lot of the time it's
still fake rain. Rain = scaaaarrrryyy and somber and spooky, and that's
the X-Files. Just a bonus that they don't always have to use rain machines
all the time eh?

I think more should be asking.. why is it ALWAYS dark? I can't honestly
think of an episode this season without the infamous flashlight scene..
If anyone can name me a season 3 ep. sans flashlight, you get a prize!:)

J.

I'm only happy when it raaaiinnns!
I'm only happy when it's complicated...

Sure, cause where they film it also happens to be where I live.
I was born in Vancouver and quite proud of my city. With the X-Files,
it's icing on the cake =)

I've noticed that, too. I took a film class in college and we were trained
to look for symbolism in the classic films of Howard Hawks and John Ford.
I can't watch a movie or tv show the same since. I seem to remember that
rain was a symbol of something...but I can't remember what!

It merely means that X-Files is shot in Vancouver. They don't call
it the Wet Coast of Canada for nothing, you know. Why, it's raining
right now as I type. "Makes the trees grow," as we say around here.

It's a symbol that means if there is a Hell, it's filled with water, not
fire....

Velvet, whose li'l ol' Island got one hundred and eighty millimetres of
rain in the month of April alone....
