This is just an odd thought I had while puttering home from work
to-day... Y'know what I'd like to see? Some sort of a showdown between my
very favourite nasty evil villian (His Squeakiness, Ratboy Van Krycek) and
my very favourite Stealth Geek posterboy, Doogie Pendrell. T'heck with
Action Mulder; he of the Orestes Complex has started to bore me. I want to
see more Krycek (No, I didn't mean a Speedo scene), and definitely more
Pendrell, too. Why not both in one edge of you seat, action-packed
episode <snort>?
Alas, my best information for the upcoming season has no
Krycek-Pendrell showdown. Nary a whisper of one. 'Tis sad, but true. And
it has such potential. *Sigh*.
Of course, if this was a badly-written (don't ask me if there's
another kind, I won't get into that) romance novel, Krycek would abduct
Scully (Yeah, right, I adore mon petit Rodent, but he'd have better luck
armwrestling Xena, Warrior Princess), and while Fox "Whineybutt" Mulder is
ineptly bungling the investigation (yeah, and what else is new?), Our
Fearless Hero, Sir Pendrell of the Stealth Geek, rescues the fair (well,
red-headed, close 'nuff) Scully through his amazing investigative
abilities and really cool crime lab toys. Of course, there would be the
token "Scully valiantly fights off her secret love for Pendrell, but in
the end a love decreed by fate wins out" scene.
But fortunately this isn't a badly-written (or any other type)
romance novel, and so more likely Pendrell would encounter Ratboy sneaking
into the lab for some or another nefarious reason; maybe to destroy or
steal evidence, who knows. But it could be done. Whether it should or not,
well, I'd better just check how much caffeine I've had today before I
answer that.

{Cut, cut. cut, cut....} Nothing personal just trying to save band-width
and electrons. Outstanding name for Pendrell- Doogie. I like it! Can we
keep him? Methinks Doogie should have more air time. Too often those
poor steady types get left in the shadows, after all how much is really
learned on the fly? It takes slow and steady to find "the truth", but it
isn't always good theater.

Naaah, there'd be no contest. Ratboy, paws down. Unless Pendrell came up
with some neato-keen maxi-dweeb tech-toys. But that would be cheating, which
Pendrell would never do. (but Krycek would...)

I would pay good money....I would pay BAD money....I would sell my, uh,
sister's soul to watch that match!
And the best part is - I wouldn't care who wins! ;)
