During Season 3 or 4, Chris Carter said that all he was looking for was
5 good seasons of The X-Files from his stars and that anything more than
5 years would be gravy. (He really said "gravy" and *at the time*
neither his contract nor their contracts extended beyond Season 5.

If The X-Files had ended at the end of Season 5, what would you have
missed the most or not missed at all about what you have seen since May
1998? Do you think if it had ended back then we would have had another
movie in production or would it have been all over for The X-Files?
Would anything have changed for you, personally?

P.S. When he made the comment he was talking about the TV show, not the
movie.

The Lone Gunmen. I'd miss them like crazy. But I suspect another movie
would have shortly been in the works, yes.

As to changing my personal life, probably not. I might still be hanging
out on atxf (I'm still lurking on r.a.s.t.b-5, after all), but it wouldn't
be the end of my world. I'd probably just be doing other things on Sunday
instead.

I would have missed the countdown to the season premieres.

I would have wanted a different ending to season 5. The general idea of
the office burning down would have satisfied me, but somehow the setup
or the execution of it didn't leave me with the emotional punch that I
wanted.

I would not have missed Cassandra blatantly lying when she said that
Diner!Sam was not real. Lies. Lies. Lies.

I would have missed that floating feeling I got after watching The
Unnatural.

Personally, I might have remained a lurker forever had it not continued
past season 5.

I would have watched Exiled (The Law and Order movie) by now. I had it
taped since it aired opposite of TXF, but I haven't gotten around to
watching it yet.
