Emmy-winning Darin Morgan brought the XF its most
touching/poignant/creepy episodes:

Except he's not on the show anymore. No amount of "what if Darin wrote
this ep" discussions will really matter because Darin Morgan is off the
XF. Period. Allow the other writers (CC, John Gillnitz, and the other
new folks) to grow. They'll experiment and do all sorts of different
stuff, yes, but that's exactly how we reacted to Darin Morgan when we
were getting used to the "normal" XF: dark, gloomy, and leaving you with
a "wha?" in the end.
If it's of any interest, Darin Morgan actually said at one point that he
has an idea for another XF ep. No word yet if it's going to get
produced.
