I'm right-handed too! Lots of celebs, geniuses, inventors, and artists
are right-handed.
Given that < 15% or so of the population is left-handed, I think we
can be sure that most of the intelligence in the world is concentrated
amongst right-handers. In fact, those page-smearing left-handers are
kind of a nuisance and they're always sitting next to me bumping my
arm when I'm trying to eat. I'm proposing a new school agenda to
train those people to favor their right hand from an early age so
they aren't so problematic later in life.

The above post is sarcastic. My grandma is left-handed and was forced
as a child in Germany to write right-handed and my dad is left-handed
so I sympathize with the lefties. However, the thread on lefties
is silly.
I'm always right. Does that count?

Ummm . . . Mr. Ryan, I signed my post: "right-handed, "innie," ENTJ." What the
last two meant was my navel is recessed as opposed to protruding, and my
Myers-Briggs personality test labelled me an extroverted, intuitive, thinking
judger.
At first I couldn't figure out to what "MJR" referred, and then I figured out
it was your initials. Surely you must have some other distinguishing feature

Well, how revealing should we be, big guy?
All right, lame joke. Yeah, I'm a rightie, too.
I got a question, though. Anyone hear about being right or left
thumbed? Supposedly, when you fold your hands (you know, like right
after you've burnt down the boss' house and you're trying to look
innocent...) one of your thumbs is always on top.
So who here is a rightie, but is left thumbed? (Or vice versa, lest
this frivolity accidently starts a whole other thread)

personally, i used to be right thumbed, but upon hearing this theory,

It is fun to watch those lefties open car doors, use manual
pencil sharpeners, operate camera equipment, and a whole slew
of other things:) You have to be careful, however, because
they have one hell of a support system: URLs, special equipment,
and even their own coffee mugs! I mean, they are much more
organized than us righties, but we are the ones who have to
carry their coffins--no easy task if you're stuck holding the
handle on the right side while heading to the burial plot:)

Other than typing, I've only found ONE other use for my left
hand, but that's kind of a personal matter that only you, FM,
and other, ah, males without significant others would understand.
Using my left hand is strictly for "variety," but it DOES afford
an interesting change of pace--literally speaking.

Hey, someone else has taken the MBTI. Have you ever tried to
pronounce the different types? Like yours would be "en-ta-jah" (or
maybe "en-tij"). Mine is "in-ta-pah" (or "in-tip")
Anyway, for those who don't know about it, Myers-Briggs typology is
broken down into eight preferences in four basic catagories. Either
you're extraverted (E), or introverted (I); either a sensor (S) or an
intuitive (N); either a thinker (T) or a feeler (F); and either a
judger (J) or a perceiver (P). Each of these preferences is on a
sliding scale, and there is a "middle ground" which gets an X.
What follows are gross oversimplifications:
Es and Is are fairly obvious. Ss are supposed to like dealing with
facts and numbers, concrete details, anal minutiae, etc. Ns are
supposed to like "the big picture" and "using your imagination" just
like Barney taught us. Ts are into objectivity and thinking with
their heads. Fs are into emoting and thinking with their heart. Js
like order, structure, and schedules. "Judger" is a horrible
misnomer. Ps are into adaptablity, flexibility, and spontaneity.
Supposedly, 75% of women are feelers and 75% of men are thinkers.
IIRC, 75% of the total population is supposed to be extraverted.
>P.S. To whoever it was that said the lefty thread was silly: "I know you are,
>but what am I?" <in my best pee-wee herman voice> :-)
See, the problem here is, no one remembers what a silly thread is
supposed to look like. (BTW, according to the back cover of _Type
Talk_ by Kroeger and Thuesen, you're one of "Life's natural leaders".
No pressure...)
And now, for the silly thread (respond or don't. <tongue in cheek> I
promise to take it all personally </tongue in cheek>): What would the
MBTI show for the character on the X-Files? Here are my theories,
offered without any support:
Mulder: INFP
Scully: XSTJ
Skinner: ESTJ (like my uncle)
Deep Throat: ESTP
X: XXXX
Marita: ISFP
Krychek: ISTP
Pendrall: DEAD (har har)

Aww, great. Another INFP. I hope Mulder's not one - does that mean I'm
predisposed to drill holes in my head? Bitch slap doctors? Cry with a
scrunchy face? I must say, with the return of Nonphyschotic!Mulder, I have

LOL! I know *I* am. :) Getting crazier all the time, and caring less and

Masturbatory, if anything, I'd think. But remember, *we* didn't make him
this type...1013 have, over the course of the series. I challenge anyone
here to convince me that he is E, S, T *or* J, let alone more than one of
these.

So I'm told. Just being an NT is a statistical accomplishment (only
12%). My question to this has always been "which population?"
American? Global? Just those tested? That's the part they never
tell you.
Then there's the side of me that says "Screw the lefties, we're far
more exclusive."
But then, I'd quickly discover that I was the only right-handed person
to show up as INTP. (story of my life.)

Wow! Us three plus an entire engineering wing... We should have a
party. Except, uhh we'd never be able to decide the time and place,
once we got there, we wouldn't talk to anyone, and we'd all probably
forget about it anyway 'cause we've just figured out how Flubber could
work.
Seriously, it's getting so we need our own version of Adam Sandler's
Hanukah Song.
"So if you feel like the only kid in town

Here's a list of people who are <something that rhymes with "Jewish">

As appropriate to type, I haven't bothered finishing this. In any
case, the rest would probably sound something like,
"uhhh, well there's <pause> well, not him, but
er ... wossname...
You know who I mean,
That guy...always wore a shirt...,"
which sort of blows the rhythm of the song.
