Awwwwwww just sour grapes Laura:)
Marlene
on a serious note, this is a little different, ER is an ensamble show.
Characters have been leaving since the first season and I dont think any one
departure has made that big an impact on the ratings

Not yet, anyway.
I didn't watch the ep, just the last 3 minutes, so I don't

He didn't have sex that I could see (and I did watch the ep), he didn't schmoop
Noah (but I would) and Leonard Betts wasn't even in tonight's ep, except for
the opening credits.
According to what I've heard, Dr. Greene (who ranks right up there with David
Morse's beloved Dr. "Boomer" Morrison from St. Elsewhere and, some would argue,
Dr. Dana Scully, as the most-abused prime time characters) won't be back next
year.
Will he be the absent center of
>the ER next season?
I doubt it--think what we've heard about Clooney since he left---nothing,
except for the brief mention and the even briefer appearance with Margulies
during sweeps a couple of years ago.
If they hire a new guy and the new guy

No, but then again the writers have routinely shuffled characters in and out,
which makes transitions easier.
And they have better sense than to keep reminding the audience that the former
beloved character isn't there by talking about him or her incessantly.
Do people despise
>John Wells with the white hot passion of 1000 burning suns?
It's a million suns--or that's what Hank says. Or maybe it was Hank's katt.

No, but I'm sure someone will play that role.

I just heard the preview for this episode on my roommate's computer and got
a weird timewarpy thing going on in my head. Crazy time zones. ;P

that's okay, I got a good one for you.
I was on the phone with a friend of mine who lived in south San Jose. Half way
through the conversation, he goes "whoa, earthquake" Thinking he was watching
the news like I was, I said "yeah we had one early this morning" He goes "No

I love Dr. Betts.

I cried like a little kid when Mark walked out of the ER. And when he
talked to his ex-wife. Man.

Agreed. ER is an ensemble show. People come and go. Some never even
say goodbye.

Hey! That's what I just said!

I know, I was just using my "dry wit" again.
I laughed :-) (and I *just* got hammered at work for not doing that enough }:-(
I definately think I am going to be in morning for at least a week ... I've
always had a weakness for Anthony Edwards
DAMN WHAT THE HELL AM I STILL DOING UP!

Obviously, there's no ER mooooovie that they're dying to make so
they can transition the show. But didn't Dr Greene leave behind
a baby? Maybe they'll keep him on the show by having some eps
about the baby and that female doctor with the English accent
instead of about the new doctors at work in the ER. She probably
sniffles through all of next season, too, because Dr. Greene is
gone. But, I bet our baby does better tricks. ;-D
I *heart* Anthony Edwards and he was the reason I started watching ER
in the first place. But I stopped watching somewhere in the 5th season I
think - the doctors-playing-musical-beds scenarios just did nothing for me
and I lost interest.
I'm not even sure why I'm replying about a show I no longer watch :) except
to say that I kind of know what's been going on on ER because The Husband
- for reasons unknown - started watching it again about two years ago.

He was too....wasn't he? Or was that last week? I am confused. It was
last week...he consoled Elizabeth ...never mind.

That is nothing. My kid gets back from Japan tomorrow an hour before she
leaves.
And then say Time Travel isn't possible.
Pshaw.

Actually, according to the previews, he'll be back next week for "one
final goodbye." You know, NBC, never one to beat a dead horse (so to
speak).
P., thankful we didn't have to sit through the season of 100 Mulder
good-byes...

You're never the only one. I wore out a box of Kleenex last night.

Well, if Greene's baby's mobile starts going spastic, I bet Dr. Romano (aka
Leonard Betts) will take care of the baby and the mobile. ;)
VerlindaH
Totally unrelated ... well maybe not ... I think I am turning into a
Romano/Lewis shipper.
No, Laura, she doesn't mean initial, as in from the beginning, she means
initial, like RP is Robert Patrick's initials. All of the above have
letters (initials) in their names. So, I'm pretty sure WKRP in Cincinnati
would have been safe, and SCTV. Get it? :-)
