Well, since you asked so nicely ....

10 minutes with Dejanews shows:

The word "wickdzoot" was used only once on Usenet prior to the creation of
Wick...@aol.com a few days ago, in a post several months ago from
bl...@southwind.net.

The control message that created atxcm had a reply field of Wick...@aol.com,
but was actually posted from sblisspc.wichita.brite.com. (AOL does not allow
header editing.)

That would be the same Sheare Bliss/KassandraXF who recently disbanded the
private Debbilmice mailing list and hastily deleted its archive amid illogical
screams of censorship and widespread disinterest on atxc. The same Sheare
Bliss/Kassandra who has posted most of the messages so far to atxcm from
sblisspc.wichita.brite.com as Kas...@aol.com, and who posted every message
from Isabel Wonders and debbi...@my-dejanews.com from wichita.brite.com, who
registered the domain debbilmice.com and who noisily accused anyone who dared
to suggest she was a Debbilmouse of unfounded "gossip." And of course the DM,
beloved for their innocent recipe-swapping mailing list, have deleted the most
vicious features from their website and all of the archives from the mailing
list, and dared anyone to prove that they discussed anything but recipes.

Bliss offered her contempt for alt.config, atxc, and newserve admins by
posting:

>You're pissed? I'm pissed. The people who asked me to do it [cmsg
>the group clandestinely] were pissed.

In other words, "our clique members are pariahs on atxc, nobody respects us
there, nobody would respect our proposal, and it will be fun to make everybody
mad. It's been almost a week since we started our last flame war. Who cares
if we drag alt.config and the admins into it?" Bliss has a long history of
using nearly a dozen well-known pseudonyms to post from
sblisspc.wichita.brite.com and bl...@southwind.net to stir up pointless
trouble on atxc. No amount of attention is enough for her; no private mailing
list can sustain her shaky but enormous ego.

Now, with that in mind, what exactly are you getting at, JourneytoX, by crying
"aha! they're blaming this all on the Debbilmice" and "LO admitted she implied
it was the Debbilmice"? Because everybody knows it was Bliss. It's Bliss and
her small band of followers who always whine "you blame everything on the
Debbilmice!" when Bliss pulls her weekly provacative stunt.

Do I give a rat's ass whether Bliss is a Debbilmouse or not? Of course not.
I do think it's relevant that the atxcm stunt was only the latest in a long
hisory of them. Bliss was bad news long before the DM existed. The fact that
she has a few weak-minded followers doesn't make her any less pathetic.

The overwhelming majority of atxc regulars are opposed to atxcm, for
several excellent reasons explained well elsewhere, and because of the covert
creation of the group. The cmsg consisted of baldfaced lies. News admins
should honor any rmgroup that's sent and should not honor the inevitable
newgroup booster messages.

As atxc regulars have been telling Bliss for years, take your pitiful grudges
and junior-high snorts and snarks to private e-mail.

I guess this just goes to prove the proverb that indeed, Ignorance is

Damn, you're right! (see below). I got it mixed up with one of your other
not-Bliss posts last night, which was from sbliss.dialup.wichita.brite.com.
Mea culpa.

So what's your point, Bliss? (It's a rhetorical question, please don't feel
compelled to respond.)

Summary: discussed in alt.config, substantial interest, appropriate name, need
for separate group

Comments:
As a result of widespread interest and a discussion in alt.config in Jan/99,
two
subscribers to alt.tv.x-files.creative wish to create a 'mature'
alt.tv.x-files.creative.mature.

For your newsgroups file:
alt.tv.x-files.creative.mature to accomodate NC-17 stories and erotica

Charter: Recognizing the need for a safe, childprotected haven in the X-Files
creative community where erotic stories of every pairing and gender can be
posted without interfering with younger readers or offending those who find
them
distasteful, and where a mature audience (eighteen and older) is free to
discuss
such stories, this newsgroup was formed. If your story contains any erotic
act
that involves sexual gratification of ANY kind, then this is the newsgroup for
posting it.

Despite the existence of alt.tv.x-files.creative, we find that more and more
younger readers are able to access adult material. In order to better ensure
that there is a separation from stories appropriate for the under eighteen
reader and the adult reader, we feel that alt.tv.x-files.creative.mature is
required.

... but I've got to correct you on one thing. Not all the iwonders and
debbi...@mydejanews.com posts were from sblisspc.

Three of the debbilmice and one of the iwonders were from Southwind,
instead. :)

That last one would be the one that Hindy replied to protesting the
appropriation of her work in the MSTs, and inquiring if it was bliss.
Yep, the post that Cici and bliss showered such opprobrium on her for.

>The overwhelming majority of atxc regulars are opposed to atxcm, for

The text of the cmsg and the namespace are my big issues. I'm assuming the
text was meant as an ironic and abstruse metacommentary on the NC-17
debate in atxc -- but that's not what charters are for. The message sent
out to the slash lists was much more honest and straightforward: that it
is a place for people who don't feel comfortable here, and want their smut
in a difference place. Why not state it so in the newgroup? Why not
discuss it here? Find out if it could be archived, if it should be
archived? If not, warn people in the FAQ that they won't be archived and
that they should crosspost to atxc or send separately if they want to be
in Gossamer? Give it a better name -- there's no agreement on the group
that 'mature' work should go there, so it shouldn't have a name that
implies it. The .smutcakes one would have been clearer, if harder to get
past the guardian dragons of alt.config (hi dragons :) ).

The answer seems to be... because it wouldn't have started the desired
firefight, allowed for the cries of victimization, disingenuous disavowals
of responsibility, the delight of yet another performance of
self-martyrdom.

What gets me is -- I don't actually agree with Joy. I know that some of
the people involved are smart. I don't even think they are all of ill
will. There are some noisy ones here that enjoy being attendants it seems,
maidens of the bloodbath, but there are those who surely just want a place
to live apart. I don't object to this; I don't think you have to have the
agreement of all the x-files groups to set up your own if you aren't happy
in the existing ones. I'm sure there are people who didn't want atxfa set
up.

There's no reason why the group shouldn't have been set up without a
firefight, without a confusing name, without fear of rmgroups, with full
propagation. I would have supported it; I believe there is a place for
everyone to be happy in the alt namespace. But it wasn't, because bliss
didn't want it that way.

So of those involved -- how many times are you going to watch her repeat
this pathology, harming the newsgroup, driving authors away or out of
fanfic -- and not just the ones you hate, I think; harming *you*? Because
that's what she's done, you know.

And I ask bliss -- what do you want? A group, healthy and happy, living in
harmony with atxc? Or your pose of martyrdom, the attention, and the
damage to atxc? It's not too late to fix it, you know. It's your choice.

*loud snark* But didn't you know that these folks who are so "above the
grade school mentality" get their own little bursts of adrenaline when
they get to respond to those that dare to want to split away from the main
group? The same can be said for the other side as well.

As a lurker, I find the whole affair hilarious... no one owns usenet,
this newsgroup, or any other part of the fandom... why should such an
uproar flare up when someone else decides to create an area for other
likeminded fans? Are regulars here afraid that they will loose traffic or
potential newbies...which in effect is rather funny too, since this crowd
seems none too welcoming...

Just a thought..

And not only are they not welcoming but they can't be arsed to answer people's
