Hey guys....dig this!

Someone (I name no names) apparently thought I could be embarrassed
into inarticulateness through her, uh, faultless application of logic
and then (apparently) forging the email return address.

Somebody doesn't know me very well.

Enjoy!

Brandon,

You know, I'm curious about this satirizing public figures stance that
you've
taken. Does that mean that you're defending the rights of MSTers
because the
MSTed have posted publicly, thus opening themselves up to satirization
or
parody?

By similar token, the Acid Desk should have you genuflecting, because
it
does, in fact, satirize the entire fanfic community.

Yup.

*shrug* The Acid Desk is mean-spirited and not terribly well written
-- but
the author still has a legal and ethical right to produce and post
it. In other
words, I don't have to agree with it in order to feel the person who
perpetrates it is within her writes.

BTW....which personality are you wearing today? Never mind...I don't
really
care....

Um... I may be wrong, but this appears to be a private email message followed
by your (now public) reply. (And the addy doesn't look forged to me, it looks
like an AOL "sender block.")

I guess the old "take it to email" is now, "take it to the newsgroup." Oh,
happy day.

Oh well. As long as it's USENET we are all within our "writes" here, I guess,
even for the posting of private email.

I got the impression, the person was just pointing out some differences "in
private" to keep from cluttering up the newsgroup. Nothing to justify posting
private email public though.

Uh, Brandon, sorry, I had blocked you and your merry band back a month or so
ago, I didn't forge an email addy. I wasn't worried about getting your
response, frankly, because it was one of those rhetorical questions, you know,
the kind that really don't require an answer. I'm glad you're in such defense
of our 'writes' to satirize and MST, though, and want to thank you for your
defense of freedom to post private email, too.

Well, you never know whose side you're going to end up on in these little First
Amendment battles. This time, I side with the Miss Manners "Posting Private
E-Mail is *Always* Tacky" school. <g>

I must say that sending something inflamatory to someone and then
*blocking* them from replying is even tackier. It's kind of like
sticking your fingers in your ears and chanting
*i'mnotlisteningidon'tcarewhatyousaynahnahnah*.
