I realize that Danica McKellar is probably sick to death of being
called 'Winnie Cooper', but how else was I supposed to get your
attention? The actress, famously known for her role on The Wonder
Years, will star in a funky online/broadcast experiment for LMN
television, a sister network of Lifetime. McKellar will play the title
role in Inspector Mom, a movie about a stay-at-home mother who bakes
cookies, runs a carpool, and chases down criminals. She's either a
30-something Veronica Mars, or a 30-something Jessica Fletcher.
Here's where it gets funky:
The movie version of Inspector Mom airs on November 18th at 8 pm. Then
the mystery moves to the internet, LMN.tv, where 8 short video segments
will be released through April.
Calling her "Elsie Snuffin" would've stood out.

That reminds me: About ten years ago, as I was walking from my car
towards the entrance of the Safeway supermarket on California near
San Antonio in Mountain View, I saw a woman about 25-30 walking out
of the store and heading toward the far end of that side of the
parking lot. I immediately recognized her as somebody I'd seen
before, but she was already past me before I remembered where I had
seen her, on Wonder Years, Winnie Cooper! At that time I was too
shy to run her down to ask if it was here, and I didn't remember
either name right away so there was no way to call after her. Then
by the time I reached the entrance I remembered her character name,
but I was too shy to turn round and run all the way after her to
the far end of the parking lot yelling her name. So I never learned
if that was her or just somebody who looks like her.
I didn't know about this newsgroup until just today, and was too
shy to ask personal questions on newsgroups anyway, so I couldn't
ask here. So very belatedly, is there anyone who lived in Mountain
View ten years ago who shopped at that Safeway and might know what
Danica-lookalike I might have seen? Or does anybody know where
Danica herself was around that time, if she ever visited Mountain
View, and if so why she would be shopping alone for groceries?

Well, there is a publicity photo signed by her at Olsen's Cherries in
Cupertino.
I think Fred Savage went to Stanford, right? And she and Fred are good
friends in real life. Sure, it could have been her. Man, I would have
liked to meet her, and I *do* remember her name's Danica :)
Why Safeway? Uh, she was hungry????
