Hey! Did anyone watch Friends last night? There was a part where Chandler and
Monica went to Vegas to see Chandler's father to tell him about their upcoming
wedding. Well, his father was a drag performer (or whatever the right term is).
His/her drag name was Helena Handbasket. Now, my point, wasn't that Helen's
drag name when she entered that contest in New York and won tickets to see
Rent?! Kind of a little coinweekeedinki there, huh?!

I don't watch Friends, but it doesn't shock me that a line or a name might be
plagairised(sp?) in Hollywood.

Yes, that's exactly what her name was! More like ripoff if you ask me! LOL


oh, and the host/hostess's name was Ginger Vitis

I saw the show, and that hit me as soon as they said her name! It could either be
taken as a compliment to the Wings writers, or a slap if they thought no one would
catch it!

BTW, a young friend at work told me last week that she had never watched the show
during its original run, but had gotten hooked on the reruns. Maybe a new fan-base
is growing!

I also saw that episode - and I made the exact same comment to my cousin -
as
its true, this was Helen's drag queen name. Im glad Im not the only one who
caught that.

Another thing Friends stole from Wings: Monica and Helen were both fat as
children and now work as cooks. (I haven't watched Friends in a long time. Does
she still work as a chef?)
And one of my friends pointed out several similarities between Chandler and
Antonio. They're both losers when it comes to women. They both had troubled
childhoods. They both have dead-end jobs. Both shows had running gags that they
were gay.
