The only similarity between "V" and "Independence Day" is that
extraterrestrial aliens invade (and of course "Independence Day" stole
the scenes of the ships' arrival).
In both versions of "V" the aliens pretend to be helpful and friendly.
In "Independence Day" they simply attack (then again, what do you expect
when you send in the military).
If you want something similar to "V", then Gene Roddenberry's "Earth:
Final Conflict" is a much closer match.
EFC had great promise when it first came out, as did Andromeda, but it
lost its way.
A new TAELON subplot EVERY episode which hinted at deeper conspiracies
but none of them were ever followed up.
one of the most intriguing was the war they were fighting with the
Jaridians and one time they showed a map of taelon and jaridian
controlled space and the jaridians was much larger BUT then the
inconsistency that the Jaridians DIDNT hade inter-dimensional [FTL'
technology!
