Claudette Yamin, mother of singer Elliott, dies at 65

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The mother of former "American Idol" contestant
Elliott Yamin has died at the age of 65.
Yamin spokeswoman Monet Corso says Claudette Yamin died at Henrico
Doctor's Hospital in Richmond on Monday night. The cause of death is
not being released, but Corso says Yamin had complications over the
last year stemming from hip replacement surgery.
Elliott Yamin came in third during the fifth season of the Fox
television show. During that time his mother became a celebrity in her
own right.
