I just watched "Hare today hare tomorrow", or somthing like that. And I made several observations about Elmyra. 1) She has a skull as a bow tie 2) She gets a sinister look - whenever she gave buster the pie/when she introduced herself/and during the funeral. If you looked at her expression. It was sinister, I think she knew very well what she was doing. Look for yourself. Sure she acts innocent but that doesn't mean a thing. It's like the kissing scene with Babs and
Buster bunny in the acme acres zone. In slow motion if you look at babs expression, it gives it away. Just thought I would share those.

Kevin Podsiadlik posts three Elmyra types, but is forgeting:

#4: Elmyra the demure (ala Prom-ise Her Anything)

In this episode we see Elmyra is a somewhat more mature fashion (for her at
least).

One explanation is the toon actor theory. Remeber, these characters merely
act their parts in each episode, and attend ACME LOO for lessons.

Elmyra is of course a direct steal from both Elmer and Chuck Jones'
abombinable snowman ("oh! a cute little bunnyrabbit! I will love him and
squeeze him and name him George!"). She is probably around thirteen (as an
actress, not necessarily in character--particularly in the new show) but has
been raised by the parents we saw in "Elmyra at the Mall", which has left
serious scars on her personality. As a result, she has found herself
obsessed with anything which seems cute and cuddly, and the obsession
overrides her brain (or lack thereof as buster points out on Turtle Hurdle).
Elmyra in such a state has no common sense, merely drive. She thinks the
animals ENJOY the tortures she put them through (ie letting the mice "play "
with the snake or the kittens with the puppies). However, when snapped out
of her private little world (at least halfway) such as in the Prom episode,
she does demonstrate the cunning she normally uses to catch her animals in
other ways--ie her amusing stabs at getting Monty-Wonty.

In any case, Elmyra is a wonderful nemesis character (just as Sweetie fills
her role as The Annoying Character) and hardly unprecedented (besides the
snowman).

---Checkout the obnoxious girl who ensnares Snoopy and Woodstock in "Snoopy
Come Home"

---But even more important look for "Ren Hoek and Stimpy in BIG HOUSE
BLUES": this is an exercise in Post-Warnerism which complements Tiny Toons
perfectly.

Well, it's a gerbil skull, and it's not a bow tie, it's a ribbon
in her hair.

No, Elmyra's too stupid to be sinister. It is possible that in the
earlier shows when they were formulating the characters they had
Elmyra as a mean little girl who liked to torture animals, but
surely by the time they finished "K-ACME TV", and probably even
during/after "The Acme Acres Zone" they centered in on the
idiotic Elmyra. Examples: "Fang You Very Much", "Prom-ise Her
Anything", "The Dream Date Game", "Jip-Parody (from 'K-ACME TV' -
'And hailing from her own little world,..., and all around
dim bulb... Elmyra!')". She's a moron.

"A Walk on the Flip Side" is a bad example. The whole thing is Max's
nightmare, so it's not a true portrail of Elmyra. Especially near the
end when she's saying "for ever and ever and ever...."

I vote for #1 also. IMO, Elmyra is at her funniest when she maims her pets
through totally stupid pet care. Elmyra-as-secret-animal-abuser doesn't cut
it for me, but Elmyra-as-unthinking-force-of-love is great. Almost as funny
as Shirley the Loon. B-)

By the way, the posted proposed-TTA-Elmyra-spinoff has me bummed. No offense
to Warners, but the concept doesn't sound as funny as TTA to me. I'll give
them a chance, but my hopes aren't too high up. My non-Usenet Toonster fans
agree...

The defining of Elmyra's character for me was in the episode she takes
care of the baby. (Sorry, no title.) Buster and Babs stop the action and
break in to explain why she feels no immediate pain from grabbing the micro-
waved bottle of formula. A diagram of her nervous system is shown. Her brain
is AWFUL small. She's just stupid, IMHO.

Now, I'm not sure where all these GIFs come from, but if someone has
the ability, I would LOVE to get a Gif of Dr. Gene Splicer. PLEASE, somebody
find this for me, and I will be forever in your debt.
