Was this series taped or filmed in high definition?
The reason I'm asking is because I want to buy seasons 1/2/3 on DVD,
but would prefer to wait for the Bluray version if the show exists in
a high definition format. In contrast a show like Star Trek TNG or
DS9 only exists in standard definition, which is why I went-ahead and
bought the DVDs.
It's a film show except for one episode done like a Frontline style
doc.

Does anybody ever show it in HD?

A new contender for "worst film of all time"
Deborah Gibson is like a Traci Lords without talent.

Bravo HD. Three different episodes every weekday.
Hmm. Every time I find an ep, it's windowboxed. 16:9 but SD in a black
frame in an HD window. I'll make a point of checking Bravo-HD. Thanks.

Ahhh then I should buy it on Bluray - I wonder if it will ever get
released in that format.
West Wing does have a substantial fan base, though. It's certainly not
at the top of the list to get released, but if Blu-Ray becomes a staple
format, I'd imagine they'll release it eventually.
Currently, one of the writers at the AV Club at theonion.com is
watching it from the beginning, for the first time, and there are
fairly lively comments. They've just finished season 1 episode 3.

Recorded several. They aren't HD. They're SD, windowboxed in an HD
window, black bars on all 4 sides. Makes me fear there isn't an HD
source.
