Clay was looking like he couldn't even let his people handle a sub-task by
themselves. He is nervous and it is really showing. Penn's idea about NOT
showing a kid in a wheelchair, but rather an empty chair and the viewer
trying to guess which kid is handicapped was a good move. It could have
been shot in a studio, Clay walking around lower Manhattan looking for
"grass", why didn't he just go to Central Park!
As for Arsenio, things were going TOO smoothly, until Adam stepped in and
screwed the pooch! There has to be someway that they can perform some
visual magic and "reverse" Magic's image.

It's hard to believe Adam's people on the west coast would have sent the
Magic clip like that. I have to think it was a joke by Adam's team on the
west coast, and you'll probably see the real clip follow shortly. It's also
unlikely they would only have filmed one take. I think we'll see at the
beginning of the next episode that they actually filmed more than one take.

These "fake f-ups" are getting old. Remember the 1st Apprentice? Bill's
signs "mysteriously" ended up hiding behind a dumpster? There is enough
drama without "making up crap just to have a conflict situation".

It may really be the first and only take - Adam confessed they weren't
really "audio/video" TV guys, they were more nerd-like. Can't recall
the term he used. There's no way you can change what we were shown to
a full-face view in the amount of time they have to work on it.

There was a little bit that was a facing view. I'm pretty sure they
could use that part.

Didn't they also botch the camera right/left thing? If Arsenio threw
it to his left, Magic should've caught it from _his_ left also
(assuming he was "facing" Arsenio and the camera), but caught it from
his right. But this they could arguably fix by flipping the image (as
long as there was no writing in it).

Apparently it wasn't a joke. Dalton Ross interviewed Clay and Arsenio for
an Entertainment Weekly podcast, and Arsenio said he was hoping it would
turn out to be a joke but it wasn't. The 45 minute interview is
fascinating - really more of a conversation between Clay and Arsenio than a
real interview. A big part of it is an extensive discussion about Aubrey.

What they could do is show the beginning part where he faces forward and
then continue the audio but cutaway to a video or image montage showing the
charity.

In the podcast which I mentioned in another post, Arsenio said he actually
had forgotten about the mistake until he watched the episode, so that makes
me think it wasn't that big a problem.
