LCD tv for monitor

I am interested in buying a flat screen tv that i can also hook my
labtop up and use as a monitor. The tv signal would not be coming from

the labtop. I have a few questions.
Is there a certain size tv that i need to get to work best with my
labtop?
How does pixel ratio matter?
Any suggestions for a good quality flat screen that is not too costly.
I am looking for something 26 incehs and under as i live in an
apartment?

Any suggestions would greatly beappreciated.
