DirecTV remote works volume and on/off for TV but not mode

I am using DirecTVs remote for my TV. I wish I could use the Direct
remote to switch from HDMI 3 to 4 and 5. Anyone accomplished this
with the Direct TV remote?
My TV is a Panasonic 50 plasma.

Try hitting the upper left button sucessively, [called "TV Input"] and
use Vol up or down to select. Works a treat on my Samsung.

It may be the TV, but it could be that another code entered for that
brand might enable same. Probably asking in a Panny group would be
useful. Be sure to specify model number!
