Anybody own a Channel Master CM7400 DVR?

I get my TV OverTheAir. I have 2 6-year old SONY DVRs that I love.
There are a lot of software glitches (e.g. about once a month they
freeze, shut off and reboot during recording), but I find them very
useful.

I'm looking for comments on the Channel Master 7400 DVR, which
replaced the CM-7000. What's new? Any shortfalls? One good thing is
that they retail for $400 which is $200 less than the Sony did 6 years
ago.

You might check AVS Forum; the folks there are always on top of
new video equipment. In fact, here, I found a thread for you:

You might also consider the Magnavox 513 or 515; it doesn't have
that Vudu subscription that I see mentioned with the CM unit, and
you'd want to make sure it has any other features you want, but
it does have a DVD recorder as well as a hard drive:

The computer I'm using now is also recording House, then Alcatraz and
then Castle. I've been using PCs to record HDTV for over 7 years. Edit
out commercials with VideoReDo. Network the machines (just the plain
old Win XP LAN) and watch shows while recording.

That Channel Master looks good but it could use a whole LOT more disk
drive though it's a lot of bang for the bucks.
