Leaving flash drive plugged into TV

I was reading some reviews of flash drives I was thinking of buying and one of
the reviewers said how his got hot after a while. My new Sony 4K TV has two USB
plugs and I've had a small Sandisk Cruzer plugged in on which I have a ton of
music for play now and then through the TV. It's so small that it's hard to tell
if it's getting hot. But my question is, is it safe to leave one of these flash
drives plugged in more or less permanently to the TV? Will it over heat and
damage the TV? I do like the idea of having a lot of my music just a few clicks
away. Thanks.

I've left a flashdrive full of music plugged into my car's audio USB
jack for the last 8 months, and the car still gets fair fuel mileage.

Yeah, many of the new cars have all sorts of options like that.

1. Analog audio input jacks

2. USB to connect iPods, phones, MP3 players, memory sticks.

3. Bluetooth to connect to phones (for both phone and music functions)
and some audio devices

4. I noticed online that Honda Accords have a 16GB hard drive in the
most expensive models. You record music to it from CDs, apparently.

5. Satellite radio

6. FM HD (maybe digital AM too).

It becomes impossible to use the stuff unless you hire a sound crew to
go along with you when you drive :-)

Well, maybe not, if you can learn the dozens of spoken commands to run
the stuff.

Well, I'm good with my .mp3 player and disks with 150+ songs on them. Gives me
enough music to get around what little gettin' around I do.
