The TVGOS data was not lost for these units after the analog shutoff
despite all the many concerns that they might since they had previously
relied on the local analog PBS channels as a source for updated
information. The units have apparently switched to the local CBS digital
channels automatically without any loss of data.

Isn't it too soon to be sure?

Where are you located? I haven't gotten my 7 day update for the last
two days.

I "spoke" too soon in my original post. My updates for the 8th day of
the guide show "no listing" for the entries. I'm hoping the guide will
update after doing an OTA channel re-scan. Also did a reset of the unit
and the clock setting seems to be slow in picking up. May have to
contact Sony if it doesn't work. I'm located in the LA area of So.
Calif.

I think mine is working as I do have some listings for Tuesday, 23-
JUN. Saturday is missing, but I think that's the issue of the local
CBS affiliate which probably gave it a low priority during the analog
cutoff. Hopefully, that will get updated today or tomorrow.

Mine seems to be working too. I've got listings for all the days with a
few showing "No Title" in some of the grid spaces. Called Sony support
and they are sending me a USB storage device to do an upgrade to digital
TVGOS retrieval. There's also a Sony support site where you can download
the upgrade.

This has been discussed to death on the DHG-HDD 250/500 forum on AVS.
If you haven't already done so, download and install the new
firmware. The Sony doesn't search for a new host channel for several
days, so you will lose a couple of days off the end before it starts
trying to find the new host. The old firmware could use a digital
host, but it wasn't clear whether it would find it on its own; the
"force a host channel" procedure would work. Anyway, with the new
firmware, the Sony box has no trouble using a digital host for TVGOS.
There is one issue, however. If you were to do a complete factory
reset, in addition to losing the firmware update, the Sony box loses
the channel lineup and won't be able to reaquire it from a digital
host. I hope an update will be coming from TVGOS or Sony to fix that
problem.
